It's Here! KFC Canada Introduces Double Down on October 18, 2010

Canada Counts Down to Double Down
47 per cent of Canadians Say They Want to Try the Double Down

    TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 7, 2010) -
Editors Note: There is a photo associated with this press release.
The Countdown to Double Down is on Canada!
Starting on October 18th, for a limited time only, KFC Canada will offer Canadians the chance to Take Down the Double Down when the epic, bunless sandwich lands in KFC Canada's 729 restaurants from coast-to-coast.
The legendary, big eat caused worldwide buzz when it debuted in the USA — and it's the most successful sandwich in KFC history. More than 10 million Double Downs were sold south of the border in less than a month!
Renowned as the world's first-ever bunless sandwich, the KFC Canada Double Down boasts two pieces of deliciously seasoned Original Recipe boneless chicken, two pieces of bacon and processed Pepper Jack cheese — all topped off with the Colonel's savoury, secret sauce.
"Double Down has so much 100 per cent, premium seasoned chicken, we didn't have room for a bun," explains Dan Howe, Chief Marketing Officer, Yum! Restaurants Canada.
    Canada has Spoken
"Canadians have been begging KFC Canada to bring the Double Down North of the border ever since it launched in the U.S. last year," confirms Howe. "In fact, 64 per cent of Canadians agree KFC should bring the Double Down to Canada. And, while 90 per cent think other Canadians will want to try Double Down; only about 45 per cent report they have what it takes to Take Down the Double Down."
    Double Down BreakDown
Double Down is definitely a big, indulgent, occasional eat, but contrary to myth and speculation, Double Down has less, fat and calories than a deluxe burger with fries; a large restaurant sandwich; or a big steak dinner with all the fixings.
"Double Down is delicious, but we know it's not for everyone," says Howe. "It's an occasional indulgence that Canada has a hunger for, which is why we're introducing it for a limited time, until November 14th.
"For those who are watching their sodium and still crave KFC's 11 herbs and spices, we encourage them to try our classic Original Recipe chicken on-the-bone or our boneless Original Recipe chicken," he says.
Here's the KFC Canada Double Down Breakdown:
    Calories 540 Total Fat (g) 30 Sodium (**) 1740
    Double Down Facebook Fun
To celebrate the Canadian launch of Double Down, KFC Canada has launched its first-ever Facebook fan page; loaded with more information to whet the appetite of Double Down fans.
For the legions of Canadians who Take Down the Double Down, there will be a Wall of Fame section launching on October 18th. There, Double Down fans can claim bragging rights and post their photos for all the world to see.
"Double Down is finally here," declares Howe. "Tell us what you think Canada by joining the KFC Facebook page and getting in on the eating event of the year. But don't delay. The most outrageous sandwich experience in the country will only be around until November 14th."

Nicky, let's go tomorrow, the one on sherbrooke. KFC was always my favorite food ever. i wish they would have a combo with just extra crispy chicken skin and the sauce. that poutine with the popcorn chicken in it is my most favorite meal ever. holy shit, i need to go.
