I don't really know where bars typically trade at....I see silver at $24.63 today. I can't say what is fair on bars, if it's coins I'll tell you what is fair.
I'd prefer a smaller chunk than an all or nothing 100 ouncer. If I was buying 100 z's I'd much prefer 100 one ounce bars to 1 hundred ounce bar.
I'd guess no worse than $1 under spot with the big bar, hopefully less of a discount than that. Pure guesswork on my part. You could call my guy Steve at 203-453-9363 and he might help you with some info.
just don't tell him you live in california and won't be selling it to him. He can probably tell you why is offering whatever he offers bbased on the size. I suspect 1 ounce bars, ASE's. etc. are worth more than the big chunk bar per troy ounce.
Survivalists want Silver to trade.... I'll give you ten gallons of gas for 1 ounce of Silver type barter if the shit hits the fan....doesn't work well with the big bar. Coins work well in that scenario.
16X face now, no less is fair at $24.63
just watch for halves of 1965-9 they look like 90% silver but are 40%. I wouldn't want to a buy a bag of 1964 halves....You'd have to look at every coin to make sure you aren't losing like $4 a coin.
