Will the internet gambling bill pass this year?
I have not heard anything since I saw the article on how many co-sponsors they got for the bill. Has anyone heard anything at all about it? Cannot wait till we can get netteller, and ******* back, or better yet when the Vegas books can go online no more $50 dollar payouts just to get your winnings

      I doubt it.

And when the GOP controls Congress again in the fall----the bible thumpers will get their way and the UIGEA will stand.

The bill has nothing to do with sports wagering betting sports outside of vegas will still be illegal unless the "wire act" and the "Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992" are overturned, but they are not included in the bill it is only for poker/online casinos.

In fact the bill will hurt online sports gambling because the bill plans to charge the depositor a 50% tax on money sent to unregistered books in the U.S. and any book that has operated illegally in the U.S. will not be eligible for a license.

Please do yourselves a favor folks and do some research before you vote for a bill that you think is going to benefit you but is actually going to hurt you. Do not just assume that the government is looking out for you

How will they know about the deposit to charge the 50% tax? I mean, couldn't they already be doing that if they had the ability?

Probably will not immediately but if you ever get audited I am sure that they would catch the transactions and hit you with the tax + fines and late fees like they always do.

IRS can trace down every transaction that you make unless it is straight cash
