    thats what i get paid

That's interesting considering the federal min wage is 7.25. The only way you can be paid less by your employer is if you make tips. Even then your total income for the week (hourly + tips) have to at least be equal to the min wage. Otherwise, the employer has to make up the difference.

Why do you think the plumber, electrician, and AC guy get paid so much? Because they can do something that the average person cannot. If you knew how, then you wouldn't call their asses. Get off your ass, learn a trade, work hard, and get rewarded for it.
I am a firm believer that college is all about demonstrating that you have the capacity to learn and be responsible. If you can stick it out for 4 years it says something about you as a person, usually

I couldn't agree more. I received my bachelors in Civil engineering at Florida State University, MBA from Georgia Tech, and then a Masters in Accounting from FSU. I say this because when I began working as an entry level engineer and accountant, they basically assumed that I do not know anything specific. I've learned 98% of what I know now in tax from "on the job" experience. When I'm interviewing new hires I'm basically looking to see if they have the cognitive skills to learn.

April is busy, but all major corporations submit extensions, so our real busy time is Sept 15th and Oct 15th. We'll put in 70-80 hr weeks around then. This year hasn't been near as bad though.

It's real simple, kids... if you do not like earning minimum wage, smarten the fukk up and get a real job.

I make good money, but I spend it like pissing into a bottomless pit.

Thats what I thought about doing. And probably would of done if I didn't have a good job since high school, then start our own business.

A male Nurse will never be without a job. My g/f has been offered jobs in Colorado/Seattle/Hawaii and what I do now, I may have trouble finding a job, but if I were a male nurse, I'd have no problem, and would love getting the fuckk outta Illinois.

Min wage is supposed to be for starter jobs, for kids, and old people. It is NOT supposed to be to live on with 4 kids, even though the libs would love it to be

Nobody can live in the US on minimum wage, living like a typical American.

Look at what immigrants do: 7-10 people live in a single two bedroom apartment, they don't eat out alot, they don't all have cars, they don't have cable TV. Yet they seem to have the money to send kids to school, college, and open up donut stores and dry cleaners.

It's a question of motivation, most in the US don't have it anymore.

Article on yahoo this morning about richest and poorest cities to live in.

Detroit median house is 68K 350 bucks for a mortgage. 2 people making minimum wage can afford that. Not living like the typical american, but they can live and eat. They just won't have a plasma and $100 dish bill a month.

So that means Paco's only paying 350 bucks for mortgage per month, and doesn't pay taxes. He lives a tough life.
