Baseball involves no athleticism. It is one of the easiest sports if not the easiest.

One of the easiest sports? You try hitting off a major league pitcher.. Probly has to be the hardest skill to do in sports

I'd take my chances with the WNBA, instead.

Yeah hitting a 95 mph fastball is more difficult than hitting a Nadal top spin shot down the line at 88 revolutions per second. PER SECOND! and at over 100 mph.

I guarantee I will run a faster 40 yard dash than 90 percent of the pitchers in MLB

I've played tennis and started baseball recently, nothing close to pro levels with bases though.

BAseball seems so fvcking harder bro, you have no idea how hard it is to hit a home run.

Still I get your argument, it's the same as hitting a 103 mph from Aroldis Chapman

Softer lines, more action, more opportunities.

I'll take basketball, hockey and baseball over NFL.

I guess MLB is like any sport, if you know it and how to gauge the lines you can do very well. I've done reasonably well with baseball this season but NFL is much more my style. Cheers

I think there is a lot of skill in baseball, but I'm just talking about athleticism. Baseball players are not athletic bro (generally), tell me one baseball player that has 2-3% body fat like Jordan did. There is not 1. Look at Lebron's build. Imagine Chris Johnson running the bases. What most people hit a regular single chris Johnson would have a double. 4.2 40 yard dash. Not 1 bases guy can do that.

again we are just talking athleticism, and if the sport doesn't involve any, it just loses credibility i don't really know how to explain it lol

a lot of those baseball players smoke bud, drink and chew tobacco too. there's no way they can survive a fitness test. They would get winded after a few long rallies with Nadal or Federer or after about half a quarter in the NBA they would be done, probably throwing up (most of them at least).

I didn't really got you at first, but I see where your coming from.

I understand that you're saying most of the guys on MLB wouldn't be able to play on NBA for example because their body build is not athletic enough to handle the intensity.

Like Pujols the best hitter on MLB wouldn't be able to play on NBA because he isn't fit enough.

Jordan didn't have the skill for baseball. It's a different skill set he was playing ball everyday while they play baseball everyday. If Jordan played for like 6 years he'd be great, because he was just a rookie before. Jordan would be amazing at any sport he worked at. He is the ultimate competitor. Even video games this guy goes all out and shit.

Nothing wrong in Baseball being a game of skill rather than athleticism. It's still a fine sport, altough many bettors might find it boring or results too random for their liking.

I love betting on baseball. I started gambling last year on NFL and it was rough to say the least, ending the season 10 units down. I did alright tailing in NBA and crushed MLB this year. I love watching/following football but it stresses me out betting it and the lines are the sharpest of any sport imo.

Unfortunately now at the end of the season MLB is harder to judge and really I can only bring myself to bet on teams that are still in the run. I placed exactly zero bets yesterday and just enjoyed the beginning of the season watching my niners just play like garbage. Anyway I agree completely with Nicky. BOL

BOL

When the MLB season ends, college hoops picks up. When the NCAA Basketball Championship takes place, MLB begins. It's a beautiful cycle, no down time, no 'waiting for the next NBA/NFL season.' If you really believe that the majority of people only engage in baseball wagering to tide them over until the next NBA or college basketball season begins, then may I interest you in some stories about the Easter Bunny and Saint Nick?

I have seen many sharp bettors in MLB win 45% of their games and make 100-150 units a season. That is how I learned to bet baseball. Now with Matchbook available, just playing stockbroker is the way to go. Guarantee yourself a profit before the game starts.

The reason people hate betting baseball is they try to win 100% of their bets and doing that would never involve betting against a Halladay or CC Sabathia. The Majority would feel stupid if they took the orioles against the yankees and lost so they don't take it even though the value is there. To win in bases you have to know that it is ok to win 2 and lose 3 as long as you can make a profit.

Nicky, the NFL has dwarfed MLB in both TV Popularity and betting popularity. It is one of the many reasons that 97 % of gamblers lose. Just look at Sunday if you were a fave bettor in MLB you would have made a killing on Sunday. Most didn't take advantage though. BOL, I am sure there will be more action for you this week.
