i guess people really don't like baseball. everyone was too busy betting football..

this is what you don't understand. people that play at matchy are basically pros.. they don't care what sport they bet.. if this was The Greek or SIA, then i'd understand.. money is money. edges is edges. there are lots of edges in baseball at matchy, yet no one cared. pro gamblers at matchy should NOT care it's 1st day of NFL.

this isn't fun and games here. i don't bet at matchy bases so i can have fun. i bet there to try to pay my bills, and so do 87% of bettors at matchy...who cares about 1st day of NFL. it's all business.

but no one cared today.. i put up some great offers and no one took the bait.. they could care less..

during my days here back in the 90's, we had like 8 good locals in montreal. at end of march madness, they all closed.. no one wanted any part of baseball.. we were lucky if 3 out of 8 bookies stayed open for bases. and if you dealt 20 cent lines, they knew you'd go elsewhere.. usually 1 of the 3 bookies took 10 cent lines and he always took a beating every summer..

bookies hate bases and loooooooooooove footsies.. their goals each summer was just to not get killed. if they broke even all summer, they were happy.


in general, baseball is by far the most profitable sport for bettors, yet i don't know why they continue to choose betting NFL..

nobody beats the NFL over the long haul. .lines are way too sharp.

25 cent line is nothing. there is this sports lottery here in quebec now and here are their lines each day. examples..

tb -145/tor -135 (80 cent line)

milw -400/cubs +160

cin -500/pitt + 170

etc.. etc..

and each time i go to the store, there are people filling out tickets.. minimum 3 team parlays. when they cash in and get 3-1 on a 3 teamer, on the same 3 teams, you get 13-1 offshore.. what a joke and everyone here plays it.. i feel bad for these guys.. and they even take all bets from 8 yr old kids. great to be a kid today growing up.. 93% of them will have a gambling problem and the govt here don't care..

You couldn't be more right Nicky. Though I love the game of football, as a bettor there is no compairison. Football offers 250 or so games a year while baseball has 5X more, meaning baseball is where the money is at for serious bettors. I love baseball from a money making standpoint!!!

Nicky I tried playing one of these and the girl in the store did not know what I was talking about. She gave me something with just numbers on it and no lines. I guess it was the wrong thing.
