I said a month ago I wanted to join as Semi-Pro for $100 deposit on a trial basis and if I like it I would become full Pro member in the future. You are not going to sucker me up so easily to sign up for a yearly Pro membership up front without knowing the full details of the program.
If you're not SBR Pro, You shouldn't get any fukkin points!!!

if you can't do SBRJohn the favor of depositing $200 with one of his sponsers, you shouldn't get 1 measley point..
SBR John won't say this publicly because he is a stand up guy, So the King has decided to fight this battle for him and other SBR Pros who are getting shafted by the freeloaders..Comment -

#73The forum existed before points were introduced. I know I was here posting and reading and getting information for my wagers. The points were a bonus, nothing more. I don't understand why non-pros get points. They still get access to all the information that helps them make wagers. Unless they aren't here to get information to make wagers and are just here for points while making wagers with locals or non-sponsored books. If that is the case, they shouldn't get any points because they will never deposit into one of the sponsored books because they don't need to. That's why the mere mention of taking away their daily points upsets them, they know it's true. Take the points away and most of these fukks will still sign on to SBR and post because it's still their main forum. They aren't going anywhere else and they know it.
You're either with the SBR family or against it.Comment -

#75Um... EVERYONE was a non-PRO at one point... This forum is a great place to come and learn stuff. Then after the noobs are comfortable with gambling their points, they can upgrade to PRO. While we're getting 13.2 points a day they are getting 5.4 (estimations due to the new hike in non-PRO taxes and PRO discounts).Comment -

#77And I have deposited into 3 books thru links on sbr(5 dimes, BP, and Betjam) and all 3 have well over $200 in them, but I should provide my fukking acct numbers to receive and extra 6 points a day? Sorry I don't need the points to buy a mouse pad from the 08' Bash or a SBR commuter mug. The whole Pro thing is gay as fukk.Comment -

#80Ahhhh...not so fast ,dear Ruby. You are a few years behind the times. Had you been paying attention this past year you would see where I have actually started doing so. I am a beginner and am happy with my non-pro status. I have learned quite a bit in the past year and will continue to learn more. And the more I learn, the more involved I will become. Which, in a way, kinda makes me the target audience of these books.Comment -

#82Got to agree with this. What is the big deal of SBR having an account number?Without the password, what are they going to do,even if they had the password, what are they going to do.I don't give a rats ass whose a pro and who isn't,but this account bullshit is a lame excuse. If they make money on an affiliate deal,so fukkin what,it's not coming out of your account.Comment -

#83For real, non-pros should not be getting any points (maximum 2-3), if u want to help SBR you can deposit only $200 of your 12 accounts of 500+ and then SBR gives you points, If you care about points just become a PRO, if you dont care about 6 points then you shouldnt be worried about not getting idk how many(3-6 i guess) per day, as some posters say, its just an incentive to deposit.Comment -

#84You speak of arrogance and then post nonsense like this. You think it is the non-pros that make the SBR world go around. You think taking away the points will drastically reduce the traffic when in reality it won't. Like I said in my first post in this thread, people were posting here before the points. Why would they suddenly leave because they don't get any points? It doesn't make any sense. Unless they are fukking free loaders who never had any intention to deposit in the first place, or don't give a fukk about the information SBR offers, like your precious tennis thread. It's either one or the other. You can't play both sides.
There are currently 500 Pros according to John's post yesterday. To become a Pro you need to verify that you have $200 in your account at the time of sign up. That is it. Not verify that you have any intention of re-depositing. Not verify that you'll even gamble with that money - a poster can easily transfer that cash out to someone who does gamble, and get their $200 back. I know of several posters that have no intention of ever re-depositing at that book again nor even using that money at all. Now how many of those 500 Pros were new sign-ups to the book that will never redeposit again? 500 Pros x $200. Let's even assume that all 500 of those Pros are going to gamble and eventually lose instead of making one high chalk bet, winning and withdrawing or transferring the cash to a friend. That's $100k. How much of that $100k will SBR actually get? Let's be wildly unrealistic and say 70%.
Now compare that to the thousands of non-pros. How many of those have signed up for a book through a banner up top and are small bettors, or even large ones? Those people ALSO provide a revenue stream to SBR and vastly outweigh the number of pros. They also provide the majority of the traffic to this site. Traffic that is required in order for SBR to even attract sponsors in the first place. Do you think books would give SBR a decent cut of posters' losses if this site had 500 members? This site would be no different than any other rinky dink forum started by some guy in his basement. Yes encouraging people to deposit with a sponsored book is important for SBR's bottom line. I don't see anyone disagreeing with that. But seeing how proud a few of you are because you've managed to prove that you had $200 to your name - AT THE TIME OF SIGN UP (and who knows where you even got that cash from in the first place) - makes me think that there is little reason for the constant disparaging of non-pros that is allowed to go on around here. It's not encouraging anyone to sign up and is only demonstrating how unfortunate you are if you feel $200 is that important in the first place that you feel the need to continue with the bashing.Comment -

#88Wow. It is all about traffic. The more people that come to your web site the more sponsorship dollars. The pro thing is just bonus money to SBR. If it wasn't profitable for them to give points, they wouldn't. It's a numbers game. The more people who come the more will eventually sign up with books and so on. The whole pro , non pro debate is BS.Comment -

#90The same thought crossed my mind, sportfanatic......but to combat that SBR would have to do away with points altogether for non-pros. Those with ghost accounts would simply introduce yet another ghost to compensate for having their points reduced or prices raised in the store.Comment -

The bottom line is that the SBR business model , as is, is very profitable. Obviously, SBR doesn't give points out of the goodness of their hearts. It is one of the premier gambling sites on the internet. If you had a sports book where would you spend your advertising dollar?Comment -

That is the Point...
You're either a gambler or you are a freeloader, one or the other..
And stop with the "I use a local" bullshit..
The only legitamite reason to not be Pro is that you're trying to hide it from your wife, in which case makes you a pussy..
Non-Pros have no leg to stand on and should see their points reduced to 2 a day..Comment -
