Should be a fun list. I base these names on internet research but also personal observations of more than 55 years. Please feel free to add your favorites.
Catcher: Darrin Fletcher, Expos [89-02] If catching today would be hard pressed to throw out a Molina brother.
Outfield: Ben Grieve, [97-05] Seen him play? No further comment necessary.
Greg Luzinski, Jose Canseco, Pete Incaviglia, George Bell. Finally Kieth Moreland of the Cubs. [ How many outfielders are part of a song lyric. "Kieth Moreland drops a routine fly ball" by Steve Goodman. Since I'm on the Cubs the '53 outfield had Hank Sauer in left and Ralph Kiner in right. Brutal. I was a very little kid but I saw these two. Frankie Baumholtz was the unfortunate center fielder, decent but no Willie Mays for sure. Staying with the Cubbies, we must not forget Dave Kingman. Add George Bell and and Kevin Reimer. List would not be comlete without Adam Dunn and IMO Manny when he was being Manny. Hank Sauer, after a night game, once told his skipper he lost the ball in the moon.
3rd: Bobby Bonilla
SS: Jose Offerman
2nd: Steve Sax and Chuck Knoblauch [not safe to sit behind first after these two caught the same throwing disease].
Picthers: Matt Young, a pitcher who caught the Sax-Knoblauch disease. Melido Perez hits this list also.
Saved the best/worst for last. 1st base: "Dr. Stranglove" himself, Dick Stuart [Pirates '56 to 69. First, Second and Fourth worst fielding %'s of all-time at a position when in those days you put your worst fielder at. Worst hands of any ballplayer I've ever seen.
That's my list. Comments and add ons should be interesting. I'm sure I missed quite a few.
