Plasma beats LCD in picture quality. Better blacks, better contrast, more viewing angle. Plasmas don't perform as well in bright rooms, however.

Another thing, if you visit forums where people live for TV's the way people on here live for sports betting, you will almost universally read that Samsung is an overrated, overpriced POS.

even LG has 2 in the top five along with panasonic compared to 1 from samsung....at $3000 more than the other top tv's
