    Jokic +105 now.

I posted six weeks ago where I grabbed it when Jokic shot up to +300 (when the idiot public was reacting off that three-week run Embid had and bet Embid down to a ridiculous -150)

Problem with Booker or Morant for MVP is their teams have played extraordinarily well without them, therefore by definition they are not that valuable to their teams in the regular season.

Good to see Jokic getting the respect he deserves. Doncic has come on strong since the new year. Harden has hurt Embiid's case.

Lmao everyone in here is an NBA scout with credentials now. How many in here even played for their high school team let alone higher level? Better yet how many in here have a waistline that's embarrassing?

Embiid is -200 and -175 at almost every book, Jokic is not +105 at 90% of books. Just stop.

Also, your post is blatantly false.

The straw poll, polls 100 media members. It does not poll every MVP voter - not close.

ESPN writer Tim Bontemps conducts a yearly MVP straw poll update where he pulls together 100 media members from every market in the league to gauge who might be leading the MVP race throughout the regular season.

That's not how the straw poll works.

The straw poll takes 100 media members from every market and asks for their opinion. The straw poll does not poll the actual 101 people who vote for the MVP.

Your post is completely misleading and clueless.

Embiid is also -200 and -175 at almost every major book.

    Just stop.

    What's your point?
I'm only seven pounds over my scholastic wrestling weight, I can still easily get it done too.
I'm no NBA scout, I just posted today's straw poll results, thought it might stimulate some sports talk on a sports forum.

Sorry if I hit a nerve.
    Carry on now.

He doesn't play defense which is why his team almost lost to OKC - its also why Embiid completely dominated him in the head to head matchup.

    Well never say never.

The league conducts these polls from the voters every month at the end of every month.
On 2/27 Embid was the leading candidate, that can change again.
But... this is the final poll before all these voters do it for real, but if Embid goes coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs tonight and hangs a 40 burger with say 18 boards, he can claw his way back into this.

Know this, Jokic's enormous triple/triple last night pretty much sealed the deal.

You don't even understand what the straw poll is, its not a poll of the actual voters, what you said was blatantly false.

Embiid was +10 and Jokic was -2 in that game, Denver won because Bones Heyland went off when Jokic was on the bench. Embiid dominated Jokic.

What a daft thing to say. Why would you need to have ever touched a basketball to be able to evaluate a basketball player? As for NBA scouts they're typically former players... I'd be more interested in the opinion of a winning bball bettor than one of them, no contest.

    Monster first half from Embid!

4 for 11 from the field.
    *clank*
(Excuse me, I just heard a noise)
False alarm, that was just Embid bricking another shot.

Greek's giving him an education on shooting.

Layup, than a two foot bunny.
    Impressive.
Embid's a high volume shooter, considering his size should have much more rebounds, and has the passing skills of an autistic child.

Did you see that stellar pass to Wes Matthews?
He looked like Chris Paul it was that good.
Too bad Matthews plays for Milwaukee.

Oh look, another bucket for Greek, what's that 31 now?
Embid has 21 mainly on free throws and bunny layups, and Doc is force feeding him every minute.
30 minutes in the first 36 minutes, in a mostly double digit game.

    Please.
    Just stop.

That's pretty much it for Embid's MVP chances.
    DOA

The results areound the league tell the story the past few days.

    Jokic's incredible night last night.
Greek hanging a 40 burger and shitting all over Embid tonight.
Let's see how Doncic is doing?
Oh look, a triple/triple over there.

What's his face calls Embid a top five center of all time.
I don't think Embid was a top five NBA player this week.

    Fun game.
    See y'all later.

Don't talk to me like I'm Morino because I'm not. I wasn't disrespectful towards you.

His MVP chances (which I bet before the season at +1500) were dead when the other poster who I just previously mentioned started yapping about it nonstop. Made me sad the more it went on. Are they completely DOA? I don't think so, but this game didn't help with the team losing and Joker's monster game last night. It is what it is.

You said he had 21 mainly on free throws and bunny layups. He made 4 freethrows, and drained 3 three-pointers (including a clutch one at the end of the game).

If you don't like Embiid then that is fine, but the people who constantly deny his skill level is baffling.

That was meant to be all sarcasm, and not directed at you.
My bad for direct quoting you, that's on me.

Once again, sorry, that was meant to be in no way, shape, or form directed at you.

    Mad respect to you.

*not for nothing, not disrespecting his game, he is what he is though.
High volume shooter, who misses many shots, good rebounder, hardly great...

Good, but he's not all that.

If you can't see that Embiid is a great player then you're a fool!

Harden needs to realise he's not the star of that team. Talked pre-game about needing to get up more shots... well that's why Embiid got off to a slow start. Sixers should have traded for McCollum, not Harden, he would have been the perfect fit next to Maxey.

    Great?
    Define great.

That's the trouble with many, they throw around the word 'great' like it's nothing.

Has he ever played a full season?
    What has he won?
What has he done that deserves the word great?
    Win an MVP?
Has he ever led the league in any category?
He's not winning the scoring crown this year.
For a 7'1" center he's not an elite rebounder.
Take a look around the past few years, take a look at his average rebounds per game.
Jokic averages more, 22 percent more rebounds. Do the math, I'll wait.

He has no ball handling skills.
He knows how to get to the free throw line, I give him credit for that, and he plays defense well, I'll give him that too.
A runner up on the all defense team where he got one (1) second place vote, a few booby prize votes doesn't make him an all time elite great defender. Hardly. Seven total points, (not votes) doesn't equate into defensive greatness.

Once again, I ask you, define great, and what has he done to warrant your 'great' label?

    I'll wait.

Thin skinned insecurity abounds in here! What's worse, a talking head journalist on network television that never laced up or sports bettor on a forum with equal experience?

The MVP award is no different from the academy awards, btch slapping included. It's not about the best or most deserving player dating back to the conception of the league. I mean if a loser like Westbrick or harden can snag it and lose in the playoffs as proof than it doesn't rly matter who takes home the trophy.

I'm not hating on the embiid bettors, I've chased the lazy oaf for the past 2 seasons with the bet. Figures he'll win it once I quit jinxing him with the bet this yr. As for everyone that just decided to tune in this yr without regard for the MVP shenanigans over the past 50 years or so, it's not personal it's politics

Jokic has a higher Offensive plus/minus value.
Jokic has a higher Defensive plus/minus value.
Jokic has a higher player efficiency rating.
Jokic has a higher real plus minus wins.

Embiid doesn't rate higher at anything. If anyone had to pick a player to play, with 99% would pick Jokic over Embiid.

Not for nothing, I enjoy your posts, you bring something to the table 98 percent of the time.
    Having said that.

I'm not triggered, just don't see all this 'greatness' in Embid for reasons I've explained 100 times over.
Nothing on a faceless, nameless sports forum/message board will ever trigger me.

Runaway out of control inflation that cuts into my discretionary income may trigger me, real life stuff like that, but nameless, faceless parasites (not you) don't trigger me.
    Hardly, not even close.
