    Corona...the math!
I posted this before but thought it might be a good idea to do my own thread.

The rate of increase is what to look for.

    2 weeks ago 10 cases a day

    1 week ago 100 cases a day
    Yesterday 1000 cases a day

That is called an exponential growth rate.
As you can see the worst is yet to come and it WILL be terrible.

Today 2 days later 1700 cases per day! Just the math you figure it out.

Please take this seriously, if you already haven't.
    Stay safe!

About 7.8 billion people worldwide so what will be the date when the last of the 7.8 billion get it using this exponential growth formula?

UK leaked document: virus will last till spring 2021, 80 percent of population infected, and 7.9 million hospitalizations in UK alone. Don't expect major sports for months unless governments just give up and let it run its course.

Letting it run its course is the only option

Pandemics rates rise and then they fall as immunity kicks in, and the vulnerable die, This about the near future 2-4 weeks not 2-4 years.
The problem is, the well stated curve, everybody has seen it.
I really thought you were smarter?

The overall death rate from a week ago has gone down compared to the overall death rate today.

When you factor in how many people probably have the virus and don't even know, it should go down even more.

Data doesn’t work in this case though. The only reason the number of cases are going up is we are testing more people for it.

You don’t know the number of people that had it, never got tested, and recovered.

Given that this has been around since beginning of January, there should be far more deaths by now than there actually is if the pandemic rates were reliable

Cleveland Clinic announced last night that over 1400 people have been tested for the virus since Friday night.. Less then 3% came back positive. Of those 40 confirmed cases only 2 required hospitalization.. Cleveland Clinic said going forward they will only test 60 and over... This all comes after the Governor of Ohio claimed 100000 Ohioans had the virus.. The numbers aren’t adding up.. This may go down as greatest overreaction of all time..

I think it's gone up from 7% to 9% of all closed cases

Per US stats, Can you imagine going to a disaster movie called, "Pandemic!," where only 115 people die and 86% of those who have it don't even know they are sick?

The US has voluntarily crashed their economy in an attempt to prevent elderly people with pre-existing conditions from getting a disease that, even if they do get it, will still have a 98% chance of survival. It's absurdity

China had 3,000 deaths in the most densely populated cities in the world where community spread would be easy. First cases in China were the first week of January. China is now nearly fully running with nothing shut down. Took them about a month (late jan to late feb) to quarantine, curb production.

US should not be extending these quarantines, businesses shut down, etc etc past the end of the month. It makes no sense at all

go look up the measures that china used to do it. We are no where near their level on this. and half the stuff would be a human rights violation. But also, do you believe their actual numbers? I believe they even banned major us newspapers from over there now.

It's most relevant to plot the recovery rate against the death rate. In the earlier days of the outbreak it was nearly 20 recoveries to each death. The mortality rate has increased through 15, 12, and 11 and is now at 1 death per 10 recoveries. At some point certain people are going to realise their 'only 1% die and everything is an over-reaction' thinking isn't correct. By then the resource supply chain will be stretched.

US testing for COVID-19 is really taking off.Expect infection numbers to spike and mortality to plummet. I'm guessing we'll be under 1% US mortality within 2 weeks and under .5% in a month.

So, if as is being reported, up to 86% of those infected with COVID-19 experience NO SYMPTOMS (and will never be tested, because why would they be?), the actual US mortality rate for this planet-killer is already BELOW flu levels.
