Last I went many years back, the wicked spoon buffet at the Cosmopolitan or aria was very good in terms of buffets.

The one at the Rio always had the hype but I've tried it 2 or 3 times and I find the wicked spoon better. More flavor. More spice.

Take the wife to a nice hotel. I I’d recommend Wynn/Encore (especially Encore) highly If you’ve never stayed there and she’s already stayed at Aria. Beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept or done other things in. Also, it’s very modern.

Especially if she’s into any of the spa day stuff, don’t be cheap; stay at a nice place,

Paris is pretty nice if you want a smaller hotel vibe. Great piano bar and upper-tier Italian food place and steakhouse up top is above average but you’re paying more for the view. Also, Paris one of the best locations on the strip, as far as traveling or walking to other places.

Cesars, Bellagio and Venetian also top notch, and Ceasers and Venetian have tons of shops she can go to if you’re gambling.

I basically Vegas plan A (with my college buddies where we’re gambling and partying the entire trip), and Vegas plan B with the girlfriend where you have to take what she wants to do a majority of the time into account.

Sounds like you’re on my Vegas plan B, which can also be a lot of fun. We saw Lady Gaga and Rod Stewart last time out and dined very well,

A lot running booking promos now as well, Good luck and have fun!

Gaucher where would you take your wife, bro?
We go to Wynn/Encore or last time we did Cosmopolitan. I like Wynn personally. Tower suites have their own check in desk, elevators, and are a nice way to make your lady feel like a VIP.
Depending on the weekend, it will run you 300-500 per night. If you can, book through Amex and you'll get 4 pm checkout, probably free buffets, spa credits, etc. If not, join the Wynn insider and you'll get a decent deal.

If you want an extremely nice stay away from the madness of the strip check out the Red Rock, I was super impressed when I stayed there, lots to do as well, real nice restuarants and a great food court

Cosmo is a Bonvoy hotel now so if you want to go with a points/$$ combo that's a good place to do it. The rooms aren't quite as nice but it's pretty close. Different vibe. Both have good buffets and restaurants.

Freemont experience is the place to go .
I went Christmas Day thru New years eve , its a blast on Freemont , went to all the older casino's.
We stayed at the Rio , its a older one.
Best places are Caesars, the Wynn was gorgeous but expensive as hell , think it was the highest rate in Vegas but you can see why.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with myvegas but it is a great opportunity to get free complimentary things or at least savings for your trip to vegas such as bogo buffets.

Since I'm on the east coast i always go to In & Out, the Aria buffet for dinner is always a great option. Egg slut is amazing if you're willing to wait in line. the shows are great. my favorite was The One with Michael and Ka. Wasn't a big fan of Love. Take her to a comedy show. Carrot Top is good as well as Shim Lim. Hope that helps

    Groupon has some good deals.

I lived there for years and always recommended downtown.

Everything is close and the canopy experience thing is cool.

Don't listen to that JJ guy.

He hates Vegas because he's a slot degenerate and busted out.

Vegas ate him up and spit him out.

In my marriage my wife is the coupon clipper and constantly finding deals on groupon and other online sites. She'd be mad if I got us a room at a high end hotel. She's proud of me when I actually find deals

    Vegas (strip anyways)
    Pay for parking
Wait in long line to check in
Gamble at worst odds Vegas has ever offered
Tip dealer for raping you at brutally -EV game
Cocktail waitress comes around once an hour, tip her too
Go to bar, order beer. $10.
Walk to another property with 10,000 other people, takes 15 mins to go 1/10th of a mile because of the roundabout route you always have to take
    Repeat

    Vegas is for SUCKERS

I like downtown too but it's not exactly the 19th anniversary vibe, ya know? Go down for lunch one day at the Carson Kitchen, play some cheap blackjack at the El Cortez, and then Uber back to your luxurious resort.

Uber between downtown and the strip is like $10, so it doesn't have to be one or the other.

Good value for you guys might be a spa. Get the lady a massage for $150, which should include a day pass, and you can easily spend half a day apart doing your own things. Or you can each get a day pass at some places for $25 to $50 each. Call ahead to any buffet or popular restaurant and ask when to go to avoid the lines. Those places can get crazy crowded at certain times. Gambling downtown is generally equally bad odds as the strip, just with lower limits, lots of 6-5 blackjack, etc.. There are some exceptions, El Cortez single deck, Four Queens double bonus; do some research ahead of time and you can expect to profit from a $1000 gambling budget. Best thing, of course, is having access to five different sportsbooks within a few minute walk.

Top of the World restaurant and observation deck.

Wasn't suggesting that they stay there. Just go to the restaurant and observation deck. Highest point in Vegas to see everything and it was the top rated restaurant in Vegas last year.
