Well, how about operation AJAX for starters, where in 1953 our CIA (at the behest of British Petroleum) organized a coup to oust their (Iran) democratically elected president (Mossadaq)and bring back the repressive puppet Shah, who controlled the population with a brutal secret police called the SAVAK that tortured, killed, and repressed religious freedoms. This was done because Mossadaq was going to nationalize the oil fields that British Petroleum was taking out of the ground and selling on the open market. Amazing what happens when a country wants to control it's own nations resources for its own people. Before we stuck our beak in their business, Iran was actually quite a modern society with no religious extremists having any real political power.

After 25 years of the brutal dictatorship of the CIA/British/Israeli friendly Shah, the religious zealots in Iran (now back from exile) had support from much of the Iranian public to get rid of the Shah and bring him to trial. The Shah fled to the US looking to his pal Jimmy Carter for cover. The Ayatollah, now in charge in Iran, asked the US to extradite the Shah back to Iran so he could face trial for his crimes. We didn't, and that's when the hostages were taken in 1979. One day after Jimmy Carter left office, Iran released the hostages as a screw you to Jimmy Carter for not sending the Shah back to Iran to face trial.

Then, in the early 80's, when Iraq and Iran had their brutal war after Saddam Hussein attacked, the US backed Hussein and Iraq and gave him plenty of weapons and cover, even though we are supposed to not get involved in other nations wars without congressional approval. We all know what Hussein was like, and yet we're helping him in his fight with Iran.

Then, in 1987, a CIVILIAN Iranian airline (Flight 655) was flying in its own air space on a typical passenger flight when an American Naval vessel, the guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes, fired a missile at the plane and destroyed it, killing all 290 civilian passengers, many of them WOMAN AND CHILDREN. Even though this was probably an unintentional disaster due to incompetence, the fact that the US attempted to cover it up and blame Iran, and after that story fell apart and their culpability was undeniable, they still have never apologized for the horrific killings (although they eventually did pay $61 million in compensation to the families of the deceased)

Add into the mix the assassinations of Iranian scientists by Mossad agents on motorcycles that the CIA assists, and the Stuxnet virus we worked on with the Israelis that the lunatic Israeli's (even though we told them not to) actually used and brought Irans whole power grid to a standstill, in what is an act of war.

Of course, how could we not mention our support of Saudi and Israeli backed Wahhabist Sunni barbarian "rebels" that have brutally killed Shia and Christians all over the Middle East just to get rid of the likes of Quadafi and Assad at the behest of the scummy Sunni Saudi's and the Israeli sleaze.

I'm a lover of liberty, so if these people's revolts are legitimate, I'm rooting for them, but unless I go there myself or hear from some of my friends there, I'll never know what's really going on. I'll have to wait 40 years or so for the CIA to declassify the documents if it's another covert operation.

Bottom line under Obama and with the Iran nuclear deal he sent 2 BILLION dollars to a terrorist Country that is not our friendly.. I don't see how that was being productive do you?
