I asked about the 176 earlier in the thread, it did seem odd.
Biggie, you don't have to have a max play just to hit ANY jackpot, and I don't think Donk said it was a progressive hit either.
The slot would hardly be considered a "high roller" slot in most houses with that bet size. I would argue this though, as people playing "penny"slots are often putting several dollars in per pull. They may not realize just how expensive it can be.
Donk said it was the smallest bet he could make but there was a 2X multiplier.
Perhaps 1.76 to win 9k with a 2x multiplier. This might be a little more in the ballpark for a good hit.

It's amazing how much floor space is dedicated to the slots. When these flashy penny slots started coming around, even the Indian Casinos went all in.
Now there are TV show themes with Giant touchscreens and bench seats in front of some. It's part arcade, part casino anymore.
I've seen players paying $3-$5 pulls on the "penny slots" without batting an eyelash, even retirees.
These same players would have rarely played a $3 slot and never a "high roller" $5 slot.

.88 bet is correct - the machine let's you up your bet by 1x 2x 3x 4x 5x
I played 20 bucks - played a max spin which was like an 6$ spin and didn't hit shit. I brought it down to Donker's recommended .88 2x and hit 40 bucks and gtfo of there to play something less embarrassing.

i was betting only $1.76 per spin.... the attendant told me some dude played that very machine for 4-5 hours straight max betting (about 8 bucks per spin) and had just left the machine....
i used a "special technique" i learned from a rich lady on a cruise who hit a 12k progressive on the same type of machine to win the jackpot.....

yes, i generally only play igt machines that you can "stop short" ie, hit the stop button to stop the reels short of where they are programmed to stop.... the internal programming of the machines generally catches on after about five mins of this, and stops paying, but before that time, i usually cash up, and as soon as the short stoppin stops paying, I bail.....
