When to think about hedging?
I'm pretty new to sports betting, and have a hedging question. I have a 6 team parlay for CFB bowl season. I took 6 underdogs MLs, for a long shot at a giant payout. Already hit Tex Tech (+420) and Nebraska (+285). Have Mich St (+200), C. Florida (+575), Oklahoma (+500), and Auburn (+220) left to go. 1 unit to pay out 7950 units. Do I hedge yet?
There really isn't any logical way to hedge a 6 teamer when only 2 games are complete. Considering it's only a 1 unit wager and it's an EXTREME longshot, just enjoy the games and chalk it up as a loss. If you somehow get through Michigan State and Baylor, now you can start working out hedge options.
Oh my, solid plays... hard to hedge out ML dogs cause you're going to have to pay a lot to do it and basically all the remaining games have moved hard against you....
Maybe do a to win 2u hedge on the next game, and increase the to win on the favorites if the dogs continue to win for you.

Who gives a shit if you have to lay -800 on Bama?? Even if he put 8 units on it and lost, now he has a 9 unit wager on the parlay to win some ludicris amount. He's in perfect position and just needs ONE more upset (albeit probably the toughest one).
I'd be doing one of two things tomorrow:
1) Calling the sportsbook and see if they want to settle for something, or..
2) Loading up my account to make the necessary hedge move

Think about it this way. To take Alabama -800 to get your original stake back ($40 to win $5) and it loses...big deal. Now you have a $45 wager to win 38K+
You lay about 7.5k-10k on Bama ml
If OK wins...
You lay about 5k-7k on Fla St Ml

Yes, get out now for as much as you can. Since it's only $5 original stake, you won't have to take out a bank loan to get enough cash to make it worth while.
My play would be a variety of teasers, parlays, ML wagers to try and maximize.
Since you're making $5 parlays, I can't imagine you have $10K in your account. If so, you can lay $8,000 on Alabama ML and if they win, you're up $1,000. If they lose, you have $8,000 to win $38K on Monday and a much cheaper favorite to TRUE HEDGE with.

I think they have a legit shot, although I dont feel great about it.
If I hedge I'd put XXXX on Bama ML, and then put enough on FSU to recoup that loss plus make a profit if need be. Sound about right? Not going to put 10K on Bama, lose that and then only put 7K on FSU.
not sure what the max bet is for 17pt teasers but i'd do that at all the books that offer with alabama and florida st.

17 point teaser option might not be a bad one. It should be less vig then the odds out there. It's something to think about. Problem is, not many shops offer it. Main thing is I hope this guy is at Heritage, 5Dimes or one of the reputable Euro books.
most i can do is a 10 pt teaser... they have Bama (-17) FSU (-7.5)

This isn't good. I used to play poker there, and they took months to pay, and it was only $2500 at a time.

u can stack ur cashouts, takes about a month to get the first 2500 but then u get the other 2500 cashouts a week or two apart

This part you should do asap:
Open an account at betonline and bet Bama -650 (best line available where you're sure to get paid)
As for the amounts, that's up to you. But I'd be sure to make at least $500 for making it this far.
