Why did AK say she had a shower when she arrived at the house before noticing anything wrong with the house?

A: she could not be sure that her DNA was not mixed with the victims blood in points around the house. Saying she took a shower in what turned out to be the crime scene excuses this.

In relating her initial arrival back at the house she says she did not notice the break-in - Soll. says the breakin was only noticed by himself and AK when they arrived back at the house (they say to fetch a mop). Soll. said at that point of arrival the door to Filomenas room was open and they could see an obvious break-in. This information came from Soll. later (jail diary).

This excuses AK having a shower in the house (only a small amount of blood in the bathroom and no break-in). Of course she knew about the break-in.

The 'bathmat' shuffle that AK related could be for two reasons:

1. to excuse the pattern of bloody footprints in corridor away from the bedrooms (she relates 'shuffling' with the bathmat from the bathroom to her bedroom - why?)

2. the 'shuffle' was related in the trial - such detail - the bloodied footprint of Soll. the prosecution knew they had on the bathmat. She was trying to 'telegraph' to Soll. in the trial that she had actually tried to clean his footprint, remove HIS evidence and hadn't tried to frame him (so please don't frame me) ...

I am pretty sure that the shower that Soll. and I think Knox separately relate having together (where Soll. cleaned AK's ears) was not in Solls apartment - the shower occurred in the crime scene house quite possibly on the night of the murder.

AK and Soll's cleanup was suspended by the unexpected arrival of the postal police and thereafter their communication was limited to the short time period before their arrest. Specific related details in testimony after the fact (months later) by AK and Soll. in relation to what they knew the police knew about the crime scene (from the press or wherever) is extremely telling when it does not match up. AK has framed herself by relating her actions temporally based on the facts she thought the police knew and because the statements she has made about her actions that morning have consistantly not been corroborated by Soll. The creation of specific testimony in relation to places objects and times couldn't be dismissed by the defence (also the testimony of Kokomani - it would be a fantastical creation). This partial fabrication of scenarios by AK based on the information she had to hand at the time of their fabrication is damning.

The Summations: The Prosecutions’ Reconstruction Of The Events On The Night

This time-line for the evening of 1 November 1 2007 was presented by the prosecutors in court on Friday afternoon.
It was accompanied by a very graphic computer simulation of all the events described except for the arrival of Rudy Guede, the timing of which is unknown but seems to have been late - maybe around 11:30 pm.
This account seems to be of a premeditated attack on Meredith, in which Knox and Sollecito may have watched Meredith’s house from this position above in the park for an hour and a half before they even entered the house.
Meredith was inside the whole time.
We have left out the depiction of the final struggle with Meredith, which is extremely sad and disturbing. In the evidence phase this was testified-to behind closed doors at her family’s request and we have never posted anything from those sessions.
However, it is made clear that Meredith put up a tremendous fight over a period of 15 minutes with three strong attackers, before she finally succumbed.

• 15:48: Meredith texts to her English friends that she will be slightly late for her dinner meeting with them. 16:00 - Meredith leaves the house in Via della Pergola to go to the home of her friends. A few minutes later Raffaele and Amanda leave the cottage in Via della Pergola to go Sollecito’s place.
  18:00 - Amanda Knox leaves Raffaele Sollecito’s house. This is indicated by cell phone records.
  18:27 - Raffaele Sollecito interacts with his laptop to watch the film “Amelie” alone at home.
  20:18 - Amanda Knox in Via Ulisse Rocchi receives a text message (sms) from Patrick Lumumba telling her not to come to work that night.
  20.30 - Amanda Knox goes back to Via Garibaldi to the apartment of Raffaele Sollecito.
  20:38 - Amanda sends a text message (sms) in reply to Patrick Lumumba.
  20:46 - Sollecito turns off his mobile phone. He is still at home in Via Garibaldi.
  20:45 – Meredith’s meal of pizza with her English friends ends. She starts off in the direction of Via della Pergola with a girlfriend who will leave her halfway to go to her own home.
  21:00 - Meredith is at home, she eats a mushroom, she lies down on her bed, and she reads some university lecture notes.
  21:10 - From this point on there is no more human interaction with Raffaele Sollecito’s computer.
  21:45 - Amanda and Raffaele leave his apartment and go to the Piazza Grimana. Less than 100 meters away from the house in Via della Pergola, the two talk and watch the house and decide what to do. They show a suspicious attitude which is reported in court by the witness Curatolo
  23:20 - Amanda opens the door of Via della Pergola.
  23.20 - Amanda, Raffaele and Rudy enter the house in Via della Pergola, where Meredith is already present in her room [On the court video there is no simulation of the meeting between Amanda and Rudy, because the reconstruction is based on testimony, the autopsy evidence and medical findings.]
  23:21 - Amanda and Raffaele go into Meredith’s bedroom, while Rudy goes into the bathroom.
  23:25 - A scuffle begins between Amanda, helped by Raffaele, and Meredith. The English girl is taken by the neck, then banged against a cupboard. Rudy Guede enters and joins in.
  23:30 - 23:45 Depiction in the timeline and computer simulation of a horrific struggle with Meredith
  
  23:50 - Amanda and Raffaele take Meredith’s mobile phones and they leave the apartment. Guede goes into the bathroom to get several towels to staunch the blood, then puts a cushion under Meredith’s head.
  00.10 - Meredith’s mobile phones are thrown into a garden in Via Sperandio.
  00.15 - From this moment, there are no certainties on the times for the rearrangement of the crime scene carried out by Amanda and Raffaele Sollecito.

However according to the prosecution in the wee hours of the night Knox and Sollecito returned to the scene of their crime to try and clean up some footprints and to break the window glass of Filomena’s room. The aim was to simulate a robbery that ended in murder and they are charged with this too.

When apprised dispassionately her stories read almost like a series of new responses to "Well, if what you say is true then how do you explain this" sort of questions. This is not the pattern of a hapless victim of "brutal interrogation". This is the pattern of a liar being caught out in their lies and trying to regroup.

I totally agree. I am from Seatac area which is like 10 miles where she is from ( Seattle ), so the coverage is huge here. All We here about is how she is a poor victim. There is a lot of questions like why she lied so much. I think she looked very guilty even before the verdict. Italy's system is similar to ours, they use a jury made up of regular citizens, so we have to believe that the average Italian citizen is just as fair as the average american citizen.

To me, it was a fair trial. The Italian guy got 25 years while Knox got 26, so to me the justice was pretty equal. I think in this country we just cant face the fact that females can do some pretty evil shit just like men.

I honestly believe that if the Murder happened in this country, Knox would have been given immunity and she would have testified against her boyfriend and he would have gotten like 70 years and she would have walked away scot free.

Rudy Guede is the 24-year-old Ivory Coast native convicted in a fast-track trial last October for his role in Kercher’s murder. He is serving a 30-year sentence (his appeal begins on Nov. 19). Guede, who refused to testify in the Knox trial, has admitted that he was in the house when Kercher was killed. He says Kercher invited him there and that the two were making out when a stomach cramp from a bad kebab sent him to the bathroom. I think its a more accurate way of deciding then just letting each person, with their own biases decide. I mean, really you call Knox by her name Amanda and Rudy, the "african Guy" or the "black dude".

Yes, its true that juries arent 100% correct, that is why there is an appeals process, but unless an appeal overturns it, then yes a jury finding her guilty means she is guilty as far as the courts are concerned anyway.

I just cant believe she would take a shower in an apt. where a murder occured, then go do laundry and all the lies and still be 100% innocent. If a murder happened in my house, I am not worried about shower or laundry, I am a guy and I would be petrified if someone I know was killed in my house.

From the real facts of the case I know, Sollecito and Knox cannot be placed at the scene of the murder, except for a knife that was found in Sollecito's place (which isn't the same sized knife fitting the wounds) and the bra claspe (found 40+ days afterwards).

for things missing, which there werent. then i knocked on merediths

didnt respond i knocked louder and louder until i was really banging
on her door and shouting her name. no response. panicing, i ran out
onto our terrace to see if maybe i could see over the ledge into her
room from the window, but i couldnt see in. bad angle. i then went
into the bathroom where i had dried my hair and looked really quickley
into the toilet. in my panic i thought i hadnt seen anything there,
which to me meant whoever was in my house had been there when i had
been there. as it turns out the police told me later that the toilet
was full and that the shit had just fallen to the bottom of the
toilet, so i didnt see it. i ran outside and down to our neighbors
door. the lights were out but i banged ont he door anyway. i wanted to
ask them if they had heard anything the night before, but no one was
home. i ran back into the house. in the living room raffael told me he
wanted to see if he could break down merediths door. he tried, and
cracked the door, but we couldnt open it. it was then that we decided
to call the cops. there are two types of cops in italy, carbanieri
(local, dealing with traffic and domestic calls) and the police
investigaters. he first called his sister for advice and then called
the carbanieri. i then called filomna who said she would be on her way
home immediately. while we were waiting, two ununiformed police
investigaters came to our house. i showed them what i could and told
them what i knew. gave them ohone numbers and explained a bit in
broken italian, and then filomena arrived with her boyfriend marco-f
and two other friends of hers. all together we checked the houe out,
talked to the polie,a nd in a big they all opened merediths door.
i was in the kitchen stadning aside, having really done my part for
the situation. but when they opened merediths door and i heard
filomena scream "a foot! a foot!" in italian i immedaitely tried to
get to merediths room but raffael grabbed me and took me out of the
house. the police told everyone to get out and not long afterward the
carabinieri arrived and then soon afterward, more police
investigators. they took all of our informaton and asked us the same
questions over and over. at the time i had only what i was wearing and
my badg, which thankfully had my passport in it and my wallet. no
jacket though, and i was freezing. after sticking around at the housr
for a bit, the police told us to go to the station to give testimony,
which i did. i was in a room for six hours straight after that without
seeing anyone else, answering questions in italian for the first hour
and then they brought in an interpreter and he helped my out with the
details that i didnt know the words for. they asked me of course about
the the morning, the last time i saw her, and because i was the
closest to her, questions about her habits and her relationships.
afterward, when they were taking my fingerprints, i met two of
merediths english friends, two girls she goes out with, including the
lat one who saw her alive that night she was murdered. they also had
their prints taken. after that, this was around 9 at night by this
time, i was taken into the waiting room where there was various other
people who i all knew from varous places who all knew meredith. her
friends from england, my roommates, even the owner of the pub she most
frequented. after a while my neighbors were taken in too, having just
arived home from a weeklong vacation in their home town, which
eplained why they werent home when i banged on their door. later than
that another guy showed up and was taken in for questioning, a guy i
dont like but who both meredith and i knew from different occasions, a
morracan guy that i only know by his nickname amongst the girls
"shaky". then i sat around in this waiting room wthout having the
chance to leave or eat anything besides vending maschine food (whcih
gave me a hell of a stomache ache) until 530 in the morning. during
this time i received calls from a lot of different people, family
mostly of course, and i also talked with the rest. especially to find
out what exactly was in merediths room whent hey opened it. apparently
her body was laying under a sheet, and with her foot sticking out and
there was a lot of blood. whoever had did this had slit her throat.
they told me to be back in at 11am. i went home to raffael's place and
ate something substantial, and passed out.

quesioning. before i go on, id like to ssay that i was strictly told
not to speak about this, but im speaking with you people who are not
involved and who cant do anything bad except talk to journalists,
which i hope you wont do. i have to get this off my chest because its
pressing down on me and it helps to know that someone besides me knows
something, and that im not the one who knows the most out of everyone.
at the house they asked me very personal questions about meredith's
life and also about the personalities of our neighbors. how well did i
know them? pretty well, we are friends. was meredith sexually active?
yeah, she borrowed a few of my condoms. does she like anal? wtf? i
dont know. does she use vaseline? for her lips? what kind of person is
stefano? nice guy, has a really pretty girlfriend. hmmm...very
interesting....weìd like to how you something, and tell us if this is
out of normal.
tehy took me into the nieghbors house. the had breaken the door open
to get in, but they told me to ingonore that. the rooms were all open.
giacomo and marco-n's room was spotless which made since becaus the
guys had thoroughly cleaned the whole house before they left on
vacation. stefano's room however, well, his bed was strpped of linens,
which was odd, and the comfoter he used was shoved up at the top of
his bed, with blood on it. i obviously told then that the blood was
definatley out of normal and also that he usually has his bed made.
they took note of it and ussred me out. when i left the house to go
back to the police station they told me to put my jacket over my head
and duck down below the window so the reporters wouldnt try to talk to
me. at the station i just had to repeat the answers that i had givne
at the house do they could type them up and after a good 5 and a half
hour day with the police again raffael picked me up and took me out
for some well-deserved pizza. i was starving. i then bought some
underwear because as it turns out i wont be able to leave italy for a
while as well as enter my house. i only had the clothes i was wearing
the day it bagan, so i bought some underwear and borrwed a pair of
pants from raffael.
Spoke with my remaining roommates that night (last night) and it was a
hurricane of emotions and stress but we needed it anyway. What we have
been discussing is bascially what to do next. We are trying to keep
our heads on straight. First things first though, my roommates both
work for lawyers, and they are going to try to send a request through
on monday to retrieve important documents of ours that are still in
the house. Secondly, we are going to talk to the agency that we used
to find our house and obviously request to move out. It kind of sucks
that we have to pay the next months rent, but the owner has protection
within the contract. After that, I guess I'll go back to class on
monday, although im not sure what im going to do about people asking
me questions, because i really dont want to talk again about what
happened. Ive been talking an awful lot lately and im pretty tired of
it. After that, Its like im trying to remember what i was doing before
all this happened. I still need to figure out who i need to talk to
and what i need to do to continue studying in perugia, because its
what i want to do.

I totally agree. I am from Seatac area which is like 10 miles where she is from ( Seattle ), so the coverage is huge here. All We here about is how she is a poor victim. There is a lot of questions like why she lied so much. I think she looked very guilty even before the verdict. Italy's system is similar to ours, they use a jury made up of regular citizens, so we have to believe that the average Italian citizen is just as fair as the average american citizen.

To me, it was a fair trial. The Italian guy got 25 years while Knox got 26, so to me the justice was pretty equal. I think in this country we just cant face the fact that females can do some pretty evil shit just like men.

I honestly believe that if the Murder happened in this country, Knox would have been given immunity and she would have testified against her boyfriend and he would have gotten like 70 years and she would have walked away scot free.

Amanda's actions after the murder were strange. Almost as though she is celebrating, or at the very least, a I don't care she is gone attitude.

What a slut this Amanda girl was. I watched film clips of the trial and she's got herpes on her lip.

Even though she was interrogated a lengthy time, there is no excuse for falsely accusing her bartender employer of the grisly murder. That alone should get her locked up.

I 100% agree that she didnt participate in the murder (even though I've only read a couple news articles on the case), she is only an accomplice to murder, 26 years is about right for the crime she's guilty of, I have no doubt that she's guilty of some crime simply bc this case has been goin on forever, her actions already indicate she's guilty of at least accomplice to murder, oh I was there and heard screaming then I dont remember, oh I mean I was at my bfs, oh I mean this oh I just was so drunk and high I forgot and blah blah blah, if someone gets raped/murdered in your apartment while your there your story better be crystal clear if your innocent, you better be on the horn to police and 100% assisting and providing the truth from day 1, not very many ppl "discover" their roommate was being raped/stabbed to death while they were in the other room getting high the previous night and decide to continually bullshit the police for months and doing cartwheels during the interrogations, juries don't have much sympathy for that type of defendant.

Why is she lying nonstop? To protect her bf, her rapist/murderer drug dealer friend, herself, who knows, but whatever reason it leads the jury to believe she knows more about what happened than she's letting on and if she's willing to risk prosecution for murder to not come clean about what happened its prolly incriminating stuff
