I just don't get it. These days, there are so many places to bet, if you have inside information or want to throw a game or something (any plausible reason for making a bet), you could do that with a bookie or online. How is taking NBA off the Vegas board going to stop you?Comment -
It's all about public perception and public image. Outwardly they (NBA and NFL commissioners) want nothing to do with gambling, because it supposedly corrupts the game. But they know very well that the popularity of their leagues would drop dramatically if people could no longer bet on the games. And that popularity translates into lucrative contracts with television and advertisers. It's called hypocrisy, and America is full of it.Comment -
