you risk injury... which leads to the clock being stopped for a team that had no timeouts left

QB kneel = Texas has 20 seconds max and that's if you qb kneel all 3 plays

run it = fumbles/clock gets stopped if you get hurt or are called for holding....

only way to give Texas true life in the game = run the ball

You're like the king of hindsight... What if they had punted and Texas returned it for a game winning touchdown a la the Rams/Ravens game? Then you'd be like "holy shit dude, run some plays, maybe you pick up a first down and end the game on your terms... you have to at least try, don't just kneel and then punt the ball away. Even if you don't pick a up a 1st, you burn clock in the process. These guys are idiots!!!"

Lots of teams/coaches hand the ball off in that scenario. Nobody could have predicted an injury at the most inopportune time effectively handing the opponent another timeout.

3 qb kneels at worst = 6 to 7 sec taken off. so 1:06 with no timeouts left for texas.... qb kneel it again and it's 1:04... then the 40 second playclock starts a second later at 1:03

you run it down to :24 and call timeout

you max protect punt and pin them at worst at the 20 yard line with under 20 seconds left....

instead... they kept running the ball and risking fumbles or injury/holding calls that would stop the clock for Texas... and then it happened and texas got the ball with almost a minute left and went from being dead to let's make 1 big pass and WE'RE ALIVE!!!
