I did a little private investigating when I wasn’t getting my Bitcoin payout and seen people posting on Twitter about how they are now in charge of sbr. I went to their Twitter page and seen them complaining about conservatives and the unvaccinated. My speculation is that those liberals took over. I dm’d the guy who had @SBR in his Twitter profile asking why he doesn’t live stream on on the sbr YouTube channel. He said they don’t pay him anymore since new owners took over them he immediately took #SBR out of his profile. I think less generous liberals took over and that John guy sold it and now that liberals took over they aren’t keeping anything running over here it’s run on a hamster wheel LT profits does everything he’s the hamster.

Maybe they want to take the corruption out of SBR it hasn't been legit for years ....but that was due to declining income.

I hate these sort of comments.

Sure SBR is a business and I di not agree with all the ratings. In fact I tried to ignore them and mention them as little as possible.

But John and Lou and the rest of the old company were not corrupt or against players or working with books behind the scenes to hurt players or anything like that.

I think the marketing model where all the advertising funds were spent directly on giving users things shows the thought process of the people originally behind the idea.

SBR is a bigger product than just the forum though. It's possible they aim to put little to no emphasis on the forum and expand the other parts.

Exactly.

The sportsbook reviews and articles are the portal to bring people to the site, the forum/community/contests is supposed to be a way to get people to stay.

The posters who have been here a while know what to expect when going on the forum, but imagine being a newbie finding the site through a pick article or a sportsbook review, noticing the forum part and decides to check it out.

Now he opens up maybe two, three threads and see the same five people bickering in all of them. How SBR forum has had any new sign ups in the last six months is a miracle.

I would honestly not be surprised if the new owners are embarrassed about the forum part, and Opti has alluded to as much iirc.

Edit: I completely missed to make my point, which is that while the forum IS SBR to us posters, to an outsider it really isn't. The forum was probably nothing more than a side thought to the new owners until they realized how bad the shitty content reflect on the whole brand.

Naw. They don't want to reveal who they are publicly because they are a privately-focused division of a larger public entity.

Optional .....the place was great (years ago) I was amazed at what they could actually do.
But when Neteller and the sportsbooks got blocked and then poker it was over for SBR.
I spent 37 yrs busting scams I'm sorry but to me its my nature to see them.

To say this forum is an acquired taste is an understatement. And if you have no personal connections to posters or know their back stories, etc it's a bit alarming to be frank. Which is why we made a concerted effort years ago to clean it up here because we were getting so many new Euro members who through either translation/language fail or just a cultural thing were really put off by some of the stuff being posted.
Maybe they didn't understand the humour or whatever but it wasn't fun to deal with their very valid complaints and attempt to explain things that don't make sense to anyone unless you've been here for some length of time.

I had a very frank - probably too profanity laced on my part - conversation late last night my time with who I guess is a manager?! No clue. But I stressed the things that need to be rectified immediately. As in there is no more waiting or there won't be anymore staff here because everyone is exhausted, frustrated, embarrassed, etc. That time during the outage here on the forum we didn't even have one person's phone number we could call to alert them that the forum was down and please get a tech on it. The five staff here can talk amongst ourselves but we can't fix that stuff obviously. So while everyone was on holiday, we were stuck here fielding all the frustration from posters who have outside forum access to us whether by email, skype, whatsapp, facey, insta...

Please everyone keep this in mind if you want to have a go at anyone working here in the capacity of a forum facing staff member. No one is perfect and no one should be without reproach but right at this moment it's a bit rough so maybe just tread gently. Have a go at me if need be. I'll just ban you
