Oklahoma can not compete in the SEC. I think that is why Riley left. Well that and the money
Kelly and Riley are both Quitters

#40Notre Dame could have easily paid 9.5 million a year to Kelly, the only question would be the term or years of the contract you dumb shit.Comment -

#41Some very dumb arguments in this thread. Is and lai have been shit programs for most of the last 10 years, these coaches didn't upgrade, the ran and quit.Comment -

#45A child can see why both are leaving.
Rattler is trash and Caleb Williams isn't good enough, as we saw last game.
Ian Book is gone and Coan isn't very good, he'll be gone in a year too. Notr Dame has beaten no one and they lost by double digits at home to the only good team they played. Wisconsin is overrated.
Both Oklahoma and Notre Dame have issues at quarterback because the same coaches who are leaving now didn't recruit well enough. But instead of staying and fixing their mess they are leaving because they are getting a pay raise to quit.Comment -

#46Yeah, can't really judge these guys. These guys are sought after in their industry. Nothing really more to say.
I didn't see the contract figures...but I'm sure they're massive #s. As for the individual situations:
1) Riley: many guys have accurately said on here that Alabama is "the elephant in the room." Unless it turns into the NFL where everyone has 2+ losses, very hard to compete and thrive in that situation. Something's wrong at USC, can Riley fix it? Also, he's still very young. Even if it doesn't work out at USC, he'll be a candidate for an NFL job (if he wants it).
2) BKelly: A little harder for me to understand. If he really wanted the Notre Dame job, why would you (ever) leave? I honestly can't figure out why wanted that job RIGHT NOW.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#66Kelly is going to get a rude awakening in the SEC. no gimme wins. Especially on the road.
Riley’s move was smarter. He’s going to love playing those PAC 12 defensesComment -
