OU won't beat Okie State by a lot. The CFP will be UGA, Bama (if they beat UGA in the sec champ), whoever comes out of the big10, Oregon (as long as they don't choke down the stretch). If Bama loses a 2nd game, that opens up for either Cinn or OU. Even as a Sooner alum and fan, I would like to see Cinn. I expect them to hang with either Oregon or big10 team.

#37It's crazy they even put out a playoff ranking this early.
They could just do it once at the end. When they take recent performance into account, which the do...they always liked teams that came on strong at the end of the season, then using that formula with 1/3 or so of the season left is a little misleading.
Because for that part of the formula, only the last few games really matter. Same can be said for schedule's effect (at least influence it), etc.
I've alwasy felt that the "if the season ended today" analysis was a little moot.
Just my thoughts on it.
many of my buddies like college football but few LOVE IT like i do.
guess what these CFP rankings in early NOV have done to my buddies?
that's right - it has gotten them talking about it NOW instead of the first sunday in December when the final rankings come out.
For the next 4 tuesdays, CFB will have viewership like you would not believe for the CFP rankings show.
then, on sunday 12/4 morning, people will be watching the committee final rankings of the top 4 teams before they watch the NFL games that day.Comment -

MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS WILL BE OUT
i have nothing against them, but i can spot a team ranked way too high when i see it.
i said the same thing about South Florida in 2007 when they moved all the way to #2.
go look up where they finished that year.
it is obvious.
Sparty loses to Ohio State and maybe even Penn State or (gulp) Purdue !!Comment -

#40Tomorrow will be very interesting in the B1G:
does ohio state blow out Nebraska and earn style points? I say it's a closer game than most think.
Can mich state win as a 3 point fave at pesky purdue? Idk.
Can michigan blow out the Hoosiers at home or will they have a hangover from last week's tough loss? I say they blow out Indiana.Comment -

#439 pm eastern on tuesday. The next rankings released.
6 new committee members this year (out of 13). The most turnover I've seen.
Based on last week's rankings, my best guesses:
1. Georgia
2. Bama
3. Oregon (moves up 1)
4. Ohio state (moves up 1. Stays behind ore due to h2h)
5. Cincy (moves up 1 despite poor showing).
6. Mich state. (Drops 3)
7. Michigan (stays in same spot due to h2h loss v mich state)
8. Oklahoma (same spot).
9. Notre dame (up 1).
10. Okie state (up 1).
Just my best guess based on 1 week of committee rankings.Comment -

CFP era 2014 to 2020 = 28 schools. No 2 loss teams.
So, only one 2 loss team out of 60. 1/60 = 1.67% chance.
Bama with second loss is OUTComment -

#63seems the committee was created to keep the smaller schools out its y they show up in week 9 or 10 and cite “body of work” otherwise if done the way before they created themselves teams like osu and oregon would have dropped below cincy when they lost and would have had to climb their way back up. the committee gang shows up week 9 citing body of work which means now those teams have to lose twice to not be in which helps those big schools tremendously if cincy lost even once it’d be impossible to get inComment -

#6411-1 notre dame jumps 11-2 bama.
Cincy undefeated jumps 11-2 bama.
12-1 ohio state or 12-1 mich jumps 11-2 bama.

This week's sloppy win over 6-4 iowa state did not help them.
Oklahoma state can jump ND but imo oklahoma cannot.
#13 to top 4 in just three weeks is not happening.

#68Remember that they will have 2 straight huge wins and a conference championship though. I doubt it would happen after watching them play but still. They seem to own Oklahoma state. Notre dame is gonna play Stanford and watch the last week. If you look at the Notre dame schedule and the Alabama one, it’s really not even close. Throw in the fact that bamas extra game is against the clear cut number 1 team and it’s hard to see Notre dame ahead of them. If bama don’t make it, it’s because they take the big 12 team ahead of them.Comment -
