Need Hedge Advice, I can’t afford to come away empty handed

Okay so it’s an 5 team parlay

2 games left

$300 to win $8,000

Does this make sense...

$1,100 on the first of the remaining legs

if my parlay is still alive

then go $2,200 on the next next leg


if the first leg loses I net $700

if the 2nd leg loses I net $600 b/c I would have lost the $300 I put down and the $100 for juice.

by doing this and lets say I win the parlay well I guess I would net $5,800

Does this make sense or is there a better option?

If you hedge you're sacrificing EV, so the answer in terms of EV is hedge 0.
Beyond that, if you ARE going to hedge then it's up to you how you want to split it up based on the possible outcomes.
The way you did it, you've left yourself open for a sizable win if your parlay hits.
But if you doubled your hedging bet amounts to 2200 and 4400, you'd have the opposite. There's no right answer on how to do that.

Personally I would put 300-600 on the first leg and if it hits you can almost 50/50 hedge the last and come away with a few grand. Otherwise it’s a free roll essentially
