very hard to use a gun in these situations for the good guys

The good guys fear for their lives and the gunman can care less so huge disadvantage

Also gun ranges not the same as real life shooting, 95% of the time if the good guy has a gun he would never pull out in these shootouts

Forget Chicago for a second, that city is incorrigible, take a look at the states that allow open carry, concealed carry, and states that allow open carry with or without a permit or licence.

Now take a look at the states with the lowest gun violence crimes.
It's not a coincidence that those states are the states that allow open carry.
These are facts, not myths or legends conger-ed up by republicans, why is it that liberals who use "Ban all guns" as their battle cry refuse to bring these facts up, refuse to acknowledge these facts, only to respond with pejoratives.

And before you go off and label me a right winged wing nut I am a registered republican that has crossed party lines many times in my voting career.

(nice touch with the "get the fuk outta here" however)

OK, let's take politics out of the equation.
States that allow open carry tend to have few gun violence instances.

Having a small gun-free zone like a hospital won't work since people can just break the rule and bring guns into it.
This would have been a really great idea 100 years ago. But now in 2018, there are more guns in the U.S. than there are people, so it really isn't so simple.

Even in a world where you limit the amount of guns in peoples hands that won’t stop crazy people from killing. They just use knives, or bombs or whatever else they need to do to kill people.

Oh I agree - if you remove and ban all guns in America mass shootings and gun related deaths will drop drastically just like in Canada and in the UK.. It is proven in these Countries.. https://www.businessinsider.com/cana...control-2013-1

Problem is the right to bare arms is imprinted in our Constitution.. Americans loves their guns.. It's impossible to take away all guns by forced new law, it would cause a civil war.. Best America can do at this point is to treat the mentally ill, create stricter gun laws and more intense screening in each state. Arm the good guys with carry and conceal permits....

Removing all guns in America is a pipe dream.. Won't happen..

How come I'm not surprised that you have trouble identifying problems. Imagine if Americans took this attitude after public fires. There's simply too many fires and they're too hot (from the standpoint of heat), so let's not change a f****** thing.
Lets not implement any new fire safety codes or regulations.
You don't take that stance when it comes to drugs. People die from drug epidemics, yet you don't throw your hands in the air and say there's too many drugs so let's get rid of all the drug laws.
You have a gun problem, not a constitutional problem. You have a problem with people who are sick in the head who have access to weapons that they shouldn't have. It only happens in your country.
Did you know that Australia had a gun issue as well, and they took all of the guns away. You're the only country that can't figure out how to stop killing children every week. That's a problem.

No Jay, I have the gun for home protection today..I got broken into last year in the middle of the night and I was damn glad I had my gun at the time, pointed it at the intruder and he ran and dove out the broken window he came thru.. No telling what would have happened if I didn't have my gun? I almost shot the Mexican home robber.

I bought the gun 25 years ago when I was remodeling a house I bought in Santa Monica, California. I was never a big gun buff.. There happen to be gang bangers living directly across the street and they were selling drugs out of that house also while I was rehabbing mine. alot of foot and street traffic.. My workers and I got threatened a few times by them and I had enough.. I went out and bought a .357 revolver.. I felt a little more comfortable working and rehabbing my house at night time after that..

Funny thing is as soon as my house was finished that drug dealer gang banger got shot in the head in that same house across the street and the area improved immediately. Became a very nice neighborhood shortly after that, home values went up.. Gun violence made that happen ironically enough..

                                      True story I swear....

Suspect in triple killing at Chicago hospital had confronted doctor who broke off their engagement: Officials originally appeared on abcnews.go.com
A gunman who shot and killed three people, including a police officer, at a hospital on the South Side of Chicago, had recently broken up with one of the victims, a doctor who he confronted to demand she give him back the engagement ring he bought her, police said Tuesday.
The suspected gunman, who died in the rampage, was identified as 32-year-old Juan Lopez, who had been kicked out of the Chicago Fire Academy in 2014 for harassing an individual, Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said at a news conference.
On Monday, violence erupted about 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in the city's Bronzeville District and continued inside the hospital with police trading shots with Lopez, Johnson said.
He said Lopez had been in a romantic relationship with Dr. Tamara O'Neal, an emergency room physician at the hospital, who had recently broken off their engagement.

Lopez went to the hospital and allegedly confronted O'Neal in the parking lot, demanding she give back the engagement ring he gave her, Johnson said.
A friend who was with O'Neal at the time tried to intervene in the argument when Lopez pulled up his shirt and showed O'Neal's friend that he had a gun, officials said.
O'Neal called 911 to report Lopez and told a dispatcher that he was armed, Johnson said.
As police officers arrived at the hospital, Lopez shot and killed O'Neal in the parking lot and ran into the hospital, Johnson said.
When he entered the lobby, two women, including Dayna Less, 25, a pharmacy resident in training, were getting off an elevator and Lopez allegedly opened fire on them for no apparent reason, Johnson said.
Less was shot and killed in the encounter, Johnson said.

Lopez then ran back out of the hospital and fired at officers in a squad car who were trying to shield O'Neal's body with their vehicle.
"He fired at those units and ran back into the hospital," Johnson said of Lopez.
He said Officer Samuel Jimenez chased Lopez into the facility and down a hallway, where a gun battle broke out.
Johnson said it remains unclear if Lopez was killed by police gunfire of if he shot himself to death.
"What we do know is that Lopez was struck twice," Johnson said. "So, it's only fair to assume that one of our bullets struck him and perhaps he discharged his own weapon. So, we are still looking at that. We have to wait for the autopsy."
Jimenez was shot during the gun battle and died at the scene, Johnson said.
He said Lopez was armed with a 9mm handgun and had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Lopez had purchased four guns over the past five years, Johnson said.
"This tears at the soul of our city," Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said at a news conference Monday night. "It's the face and consequence of evil."

O'Neal was a 38-year old emergency room doctor, who at been a resident at Mercy hospital before joining the staff in 2016, officials said. Less graduated from Purdue University in May and became a pharmacy resident at the hospital in July, officials said.
Jimenez, 28, a married father of three young children, had been a member of the Chicago Police Department less than two years, Johnson said.
"The City of Chicago lost a doctor, pharmaceutical assistant and a police officer, all going about their day, all doing what they love," Emanuel said.
The emergency room at Mercy hospital was closed most of the day Tuesday but reopened in the afternoon.
"A hospital should be a safe place," Dr. Patrick Connor, the emergency department director at Mercy, said during the Monday night news conference. "Every shooting in America is a tragedy -- it is a national tragedy. And it is especially senseless when a shooting occurs in a healing space of a hospital."
The hospital had its first active-shooter drill three or four weeks ago, said Michael Davenport, the chief medical officer.

                                                      I'm not defending him he's a murderer!!!

All I'm saying is when you commit to marriage and a man buys a $5000 engagement ring and the woman accepts and says yes, then a few months later she says I'm out and keeps the ring that's just wrong!!!.. That would piss off most men especially if they just dumped their life saving on that ring..

That's all I'm saying.. The woman that calls it off should give back the ring no questions asked and move on.. That's keeping it real...

I agree. Give the ring back. Your life worths more than keeping a $5,000 ring you decided you keep even though you got cold feet.
