What is going on at coinbase? Anyone having problems w/ CoinbaseSupport? Insolvent or operating fractional reserve like MTGOX?

Calling them insolvent because btc transfers are temporarily down might be overdoing it a little. Pretty much every time the market is going crazy coinbase has a temporary meltdown.

No way coinbase has the free cash of every person we’re to sell off to pay people, plus it would completely destroy their business for a complete crash. It’s not by accident this happens during sell offs. And probably saves most people money

If people want to panic and sell, they should be able to. Coinbase has been sketch lately but its the best we got.

Not buying it because I want to use it, it's simply a stock/lottery ticket for me. I'd rather use Monero as a currency, but Monero still has a ways to go before being like Litecoin (which I try to use now or ETH).

FWIW, I just checked Coinbase and didn't have any issues attempting to purchase BCH. I didn't go through with the actual transaction, but it let me get to the final page before hitting Buy. Normally I couldn't get that far when it was disabled.

Its still in pending status. When I click on the 'view transaction' link it now says NO TRANSACTION FOUND WITH THE HASH XXXXXXXXXX.

Do I just leave it alone and let it clear, or is there some contact I can email or something to figure it out?

I had that happen with BCH when trying to move it back and forth when it was first listed. Submitted a support ticket after the Tx hash they gave kept coming up as non-existent for 12 hours and (I'm guessing by coincidence) 5 minutes later it showed up.

Rough 24 hours for sure. I just bought a shitload of LTC yesterday at $370 too.

I think BTC might dip to $11k in the next day. Hopefully that's the bottom and we'll creep back up to $20k.

Ripple, if it overtakes SWIFT as a global banking protocol, would be around $12.00-$15.00 bucks max from what I've read. On the positive, it won't be as volatile as other coins.

It's usually taken 3-4 months to double its value (2016 didn't do much tho) until the last time where it doubled in 2 weeks.

Conservatively I think the Feb 2018 price should be $16,000. June 2018 should be $32,000

Anything under $16,000 is a good time to buy. You can't get caught looking at the short term. Need to take the long term approach. Based on the charts I'm looking at, there should be strong resistance at $12,000 which will be a good entry point. Buy and hold from there.
