SBR Bash 2017???

These bashes are great... except all the SBR hangers on who don't post much at all come out of the wood work looking for handouts...

SpeedPro is a perfect example of how there should be some "process" on who gets to get on list to go as opposed to a first come first served situation. 541 post in 6 years, goes to the bash on SBR's dime, then doesnt even renew his pro status for a freakin $100 when stayed in a room that cost $400-$500 a night. I didnt even sign up originally as I was fairly new here and hadnt posted much up until then. Again, nothing personal pal but some participation here should count for something

We see exactly what you see and after DR we made a vow that we'd rectify that issue. People - sadly including our mutual mate - who merely use this place as a free holiday every year or two are going to be in for a shock if they're not a contributor to SBR and try to sign up for the Bash. And "contributor" doesn't include people who suddenly start taking a massive interest as of the time I post this. We notice and SBR would rather spend the money on those who really are loyal to the forum than to dilute the funds amongst those randoms who suddenly decide they love this place come Bash time

Edited to say - after seeing the posts above I just want to clarify my comment had nothing to do with SpeedPro. It was just a general response to Boner as this is an issue that comes up at every Bash - people no one has ever heard of suddenly being an SBR devotee at Bash time - and including no shows which also costs SBR big moolah. No more.

I agree that posters should contribute more in order to attend the event. But how do you define contributing? Post count? Logins? It would be tough to figure out the proper requirement.

As for the no shows... every time SBR puts on this show... it's 6 months away. A lot of things can occur in someone's life during 6 months. Sometimes you're like fuk it... I can't go now. Why can't SBR get everything together in 3 months? That's a quarter of the year time frame. Should be enough time. I'm more of a spontaneous... let's do this NOW person. I hate planning. 6 months is just way too long to plan.

You know I'll be there!!! Yeah we don't post much. But we've been a here long time and we are probably friends with more posters here than guys with 5000 posts. Actual friends, like hanging out and drinking beers, not just posting on the internet.
