Vegas is too easy! My vote is costa rica. Went to punta cana on last years trip and hard rock was awsome. Great folks. Costs rica is on my bucket list

We see exactly what you see and after DR we made a vow that we'd rectify that issue. People - sadly including our mutual mate - who merely use this place as a free holiday every year or two are going to be in for a shock if they're not a contributor to SBR and try to sign up for the Bash. And "contributor" doesn't include people who suddenly start taking a massive interest as of the time I post this. We notice and SBR would rather spend the money on those who really are loyal to the forum than to dilute the funds amongst those randoms who suddenly decide they love this place come Bash time

Edited to say - after seeing the posts above I just want to clarify my comment had nothing to do with SpeedPro. It was just a general response to Boner as this is an issue that comes up at every Bash - people no one has ever heard of suddenly being an SBR devotee at Bash time - and including no shows which also costs SBR big moolah. No more.

well written Shari.............I didnt even sign up when the initial post went up because i wasnt real active at that time..i think i was like 36th on the initial waiting list....It's a tough call with regard to this as im sure work gets in the way of some to post here......i'm sure ther will be a fair way to sign up moving forward....

We're literally having this conversation as I type this. There were 2 people who didn't show in DR which we can tolerate but there were quite a few who cancelled before the deadline of showing your flight itinerary. That stuff fuks us up hugely because to book rooms, book a room for the Super Bowl, etc... you have to do that 6 months to a year in advance and when people suddenly decide they can't be bothered or didn't save enough for a plane ticket, it's a sting. Still though it's a huge difference from the hordes who bailed on Vegas each time despite so many - including people in this thread - claiming how much easier it is for people to get to. And one of those times the first 100 people got flight vouchers and the other time they got free flights!! And people were still bailing!! That's why I laugh when people beg for another Vegas Bash. Good f'n luck. If idiots can't even afford a $39 flight after making us pay for a room, we sure as hell don't want them. Go there on your own time

And even bigger is the amount of time Louise and Sam spend sorting this out. This is Lou's life for MONTHS and it's not easy when half these friggen resorts have illiterates and/or non English speakers as staff. That first mixer we had at the Hard Rock took Lou 82 headaches to organise and we deliberately tried to make it low key!!! That's why this time if you're not loyal to SBR, you're not rocking out on SBR's dime. Anyone who has any doubts whether they're a decent member of this forum or not, already has their answer xo

wow, so if my wife and I gone ahead and winged it and headed down last second, we'd have found a spot?

and Shari, it would be nice if you would simply affirm that my wife and I were ready to bust down to the DR last second, full fare, if sbr could gaurantee a spot (which it couldn't, and which I totally understand).... it would stop a lot of waves' constant abuse he thinks he's hurling my direction (that being the b.s. that I couldn't afford the airfare -- what a joke)....

it just be nice to officially shut him up on yet another point he raises ad nauseum, which couldn't be further from the truth.... (it would have a positive impact on the forum, as it would decrease his posts by ten percent or so)

can only imagine the headaches....i remember trying to find where the 1st mixer was and it taking an act of god just to get the correct location.........we almost got beat up because we were in some other groups function!!....not sure what was worse that night, walking around for hours trying to find the venue or seeing Trip D's shirt
