...allow at least 50 points in back-to-back games! The other one was those immortal 1923 Rochester Jeffersons.

I guess the bye week after New England did not help?

To me, it falls back on coaching. It means they studied the film, made adjustments, but in the end had no answers.

That didn't happen to the guy they ran out on a rail? I thought that is why they fired Lovie smith. He could not get them over the hump. Now the hump is mount Everett.

Sure it did, it helped Green Bay demolish them. LOL.

The transition from CFL to the NFL is like climbing mount Everest. Marv Levy did it once, but that was 35 years ago.

And Brandon Marshall was saying on his Inside the NFL show he does that " guys came back to work happy and had a great week of practice". I don't understand with all that offensive talent that they can't score and move the ball consistently. Has Cutler got that bad?

Why do people lay this all on Cutler? CHI is bad from top to bottom. Put Brady or Peyton @ QB, it wouldn't help much.

You serious, they have a lot of talent on offense but Cutler seems to have a bad attitude. No leadership qualities. Peyton or Brady would excel with that offense. I know the defense is bad but the offense should be out scoring more of their opponents.

Because they have Pro Bowl caliber talent with Forte at running back and Marshall & Jeffery at WR. They simply HAVE to be better than they have been offensively with those guys so yes, it does fall on Cutler. He had like 9 turnovers himself the previous five games before last night and he added some more.

Some truth, but the defense is so bad they literally could not stop either NE or GB once. To keep up they'd have to score a TD every time. And then when you don't you fall so far behind that you're pressing and have no chance. The blown coverages were so comical it looked like a high school game.

This isn't just a load of crap, its a big steaming pile of crap. Keep taking any and all accountability away from Cutler, after all he does the same thing. At one point they showed Marshall and Jeffrey standing together on the sideline and the look on their faces said it all. They WISH they had AR throwing them the ball. Hell, at this point they wish they had McCown throwing them the ball.

Compare Cutler's stats with someone like Foles, Dalton or Eli. Not every team gets to have a Brady or Peyton.

I would think that should be automatic firing of head coach

                            Players quit on him

Last I checked the Packer defense wasn't getting confused with the steel curtain. This is the same team that put up 500+ yards against the Packers earlier and came away with only 17 points. Three more turnovers for Cutler, but I'm sure none of that was his fault. Any chance they can sign him to a 10 year extension?

That secondary was torched. I don't know how you suddenly make bad players become good just because you look at some film.

Ok, keep Cutler and defend him. Bottom line is he is not a leader and has a loser attitude. Fuking McCown got a very nice contract with TB when he excelled with that Bear offense. And LT is right, he turns the ball over way too much and the QB is accountable for that offense, looks like the team dislikes playing for him. Cutler has one of the best arms in football but is a head case, nothing else you say can dispute that!! Bring back McCown.....

Eli had 5 picks in one game less than a year ago. Good players can have rough patches.

I'm not saying Cutler belongs in the HOF or anything, but there's plenty of blame to go around in CHI, including up top.

McCown is a backup, TB was stupid to pay him. If you think McCown is better than Cutler, I have nothing more to say.

Yeah, extending a franchise QB is sometimes a tough call. But switching to McCown wasn't an answer either.

Reading some old threads, it sounds like Cutler might have a "Ryan Leaf" complex, he just rubs teammates the wrong way. I still maintain that the right coaching infrastructure would take some off that political pressure off the shoulders of the starting QB, he's got enough to worry about as it is.

I keep coming back to Eli, it's not like he's a beacon of emotional inspiration for the team, but the maturity of that coaching staff is able to keep the emotions in the locker room to a simmer somehow. People are rumbling about Coughlin, but he might be the only thing holding that team together.

Does Eli have pro bowl receivers and a top 3 dual threat running back at his disposal? Until he does, you can't even compare the two situations. Half the QBs in the league would die to play with those weapons.

Well if he didn't commit so many turnovers and actually moved the chains with some drives, scored some points with all those weapons like McCown did then maybe the defense would play better and not be on the field all day. And it seems more and more that Cutler is detrimental to this team...
