#179the fools will never understand what secret society entails. they will forever live in ignorance despite books like John Robison's "Proofs of a conspiracy" existingOriginally posted by The GiantNBA players are born into a Basketball Illuminati.
The same Basketball Illuminati breeds referees, game officials, clock managers, owners of teams, every team personnel, broadcasters, and a good percentage of season-ticket holders.
I was a season-ticket holder for many years, and was given insight to several things most people don't know. I'm not going to destroy my privileges as a Basketball Illuminati, but will shed light on one thing:
For example: When a team is chosen to be victorious before a game, the basket they shoot in is 21 inches in diameter, as opposed to the regulated standard 18 inches. Almost impossible to tell at the arena, but the outcome speaks for itself. Miami got the larger basket in tonight's game. I was told this minutes before tonight's game, and made my wager accordingly.
The Basketball Illuminati is very real.
Respect it.
Love it.

#182How many times have major league refs gone under the hood or reviewed a call and ruled suspiciously. Even the network analysts will comment how ridiculous the ruling is.
Somehow in a majority of these cases it's at the end of a game and the ruling impacts the original spread total or who actually wins. It's dumb to think this is just a mistake by trained officials.
Donaughy never implicated anyone he was redding with him. It shows you just one individual can be involved. Side refs don't have to argue with each and every bad call the head ref makes. After the side would not want his colleagues arguing with him when he is in charge.
I guess for you it's a conspiracy that cops sometimes deliver drugs and are on the take of drug cartels. Stop living in a bubble and asking for silly proof that you cannot get.Comment -

#185Originally posted by greenhippoWhy hasn't the exwife of someone on the take gone public with these accusations? A scorned woman doesn't stay quiet. Why aren't there any stories from a guy's neighbors wondering why all of a sudden he has 3 new cars and a new boat? Why isn't the IRS taking dozens of guys to court for these mysterious and undocumented deposits into these guys bank accounts or mystery purchases with cash? You can't be a professional sports referee or umpire and randomly have large cash deposits hitting your account without red flags. Why hasn't 60 Minutes, Dateline, Fox News, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, Good Morning America, BBC, TMZ (TMZ! They find out EVERYTHING) done a single story about large scale sports fixing? I guess they must be on the take as well, but then why isn't the government taking a look at the hundreds of reporters throughout the country for their unearned income? I guess the government officials must be in it too. Just think, fix a game, win $5M but spend $40M to pay off a few thousand people just to keep quiet.
Question, pretty sure we've all been in or seen a situation where a group of 10-15 people have to keep something to themselves. How often does that work out? Probably around zero, 2-3 of them will tell their friends like it's no big deal, another 4-5 will easily tell their spouse or partner. Most of the time it's not a big enough story that they'll go run to the nearest news station, but when it is, it happens. Now you're telling me that literally THOUSANDS of people who have to be on the take are keeping it secret. No recording of the conversations (because we all know someone is always recording) no one saying the wrong thing in front of the wrong person who then leaks it, no paper trail, no digital trail?
This issue is way bigger, and deeper than you can imagine.Comment -

#189its not the size of the basket...its magnets in the ball & rims. remote controlled they can either use positive charge or negative charge. these guys shoot great as it is. but on nights where they are using positive charge, they dont miss anything, nights with negative charge, even close shots or free throws with crazy bounce or spin "shooters touch or friendly rolls" are not "coincidences" anymore. look up US patents on the rims lately....talking about magnets big time. also, the game ball is brought out by the refs and they only use that one "controlled" "game ball".Originally posted by daneblazerWith technology these days, it's actually micro- chipped in. #190IMO its not rigged at all, that's stupid and it would be almost impossible to do anyway. But I do believe players know what the lines are, why wouldn't they. And I believe some of them would try to cover just for their fans if nothing else, they know their fans are betting on them and want to cover for them. I don't believe they are being paid to do soOriginally posted by akphideltHow do you know players know what the lines and totals are? And why would they care whether or not to beat the line. Are they getting paid on top of their $10 million salaries to beat a spread. If so who is paying them and how much... the underground Vegas mafia?
Not buying it at all. I would say, garbage time players like to pad their stats more than anything and defenses don't play as hard. The fact some of the times garbage time effects bettors is just a logical fallacy. And no ref has been caught in the past 30 years trying to change the outcome of the game to beat a spread or a line. One rogue ref was caught because he was a degenerate gambler and got in to it with local gamblers. Definitely did not provide any evidence that the NBA rigs or fixes games for any reason.Comment -

#194So using your logic all you have to do is fade the public and you'll win. Let me know how that works out for you.Originally posted by TheMoneyShotAkphidelt has to be just fukking with us and trying to make a name here.
AK let me explain something to you pal... it's SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT. NFL, NBA, MLB etc. If for whatever reason someone wants the other side to win... because stats show 80% on one side... with HUGE WAGERS... you can guarandamntee the 20% will mysteriously win. If Vegas constantly paid out the 80% side... there would be no vegas. You understand? How do you rig something you ask???
In MLB... there's a total. You want the Over to win??? The umpire mysteriously has a smaller strike zone than usual. More walks... more chances to score. The Over hits. Vegas wants the Under to win? That's easy... the umpire makes the strike zone unusually bigger... more called 3 strikes less chances for the ball to be hit.
In the NBA... if Vegas wants an OVER. Call the fouls get in the Bonus early... there's your Over. Vegas wants an Under... guy goes to the lane... gets hammered? I didn't see anything.. no foul... no bonus. Nothing.
There are several ways to screw a side over. The favorite is winning the point spread in the NFL and they have the ball with 3:00 minutes to go in the game. Call 1 offensive holding call. Backs them up 1st and 20... They are up by 2 scores... they will play conservative and Punt. Other team mysteriously scores an easy one.... and your SIDE LOSES!!!!! What if the ref never called the HOLD??? First down... and more... and a cover.
I've witnessed 23 points scored in an NBA game with 1:00 to go on the clock in the 4th Qtr. When the other team had a double digit lead and somehow the refs were still calling fouls??? WHY????? Game is out of hand. No need for it.
I've witnessed an NBA game that only scored 8 points with 4:00 minutes to go in the game. You mean no one got fouled??? No one can get a damn bucket???
No... it's not coincidence. It's called business. Our job is not only to cap the game... but also estimate which side Vegas wants to win.
So seriously AK... blow it out of your a$$ and stop with the novice explanations. I've been doing this for 15 years. I've seen practically everything.
There was a poster that mentioned majority of the people who go to games just eat and drink and have a good time. They have no clue to what's going on. That is 100% correct. Think of all the millions... and millions of fans... 90% of them DO NOT GAMBLE. They have no clue what a FIX is... they think it's part of the game. No one will ever RAT someone out. But there are "Company" men that do their job. They do their job so damn well... it looks 100% natural.Comment -

#199Please allow me to chime in here...
There are two versions of how we view the sports world.
One, is a very juvenile and adolescent but also natural feeling to attach ourselves to athletes and our favorite teams. We grow up glamorizing our favorites and hold great joy in the pleasure we have in their victories and love vicariously through them. Our favorites can do no wrong.
The other is a more logical and aerial view understanding of how the sports world works. Here there is an absolute and infinite realm of possibility that what is happening isn't all that is advertised and we might not know a clear vision of our fandom.
Each league is run as a business and is for the sole purpose of your entertainment and dollar value that you hold as a subscriber to their attendance, merchandise and eyeball views of games which spike ad space value. If you do not believe that sports can and IS somehow fixed on a nightly basis you truly do not know how this industry works and should probably not be wasting your money putting action in any book.
There is a reason why these fixes will never be in the spotlight. Those moguls that have the means to broadcast have monopolized your channels. ESPN now has 15 channels to broadcast. ESPN works on the equal waves of business as the sports they promote. It would be a VERY bad business play for ESPN to broadcast any fixes in sports because they get ratings when you're watching sports the most and they're exciting.
DO NOT PUT ACTION IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE A FIX CAN HAPPEN
You have to be be one step ahead in this industry. Best of luck to all on your plays.Comment -
