The amount I'd pay in Vegas for a room and food is still less than I'd end up paying after the 4+ layovers for hours it's going to to take me to get to CR or DR. Nothing else to do in an airport but shop. As John said Vegas will happen again "one day...one day." It's not going to be this time though. The casino is brand new. Can smoke a cuban while flipping cards.

So all inclusive meaning ALL drinks and ALL food is free 24/7 anywhere on the resort. btw the food was excellent. Drinks? Beer drinkers have the advantage, well drinks are watered down cheap stuff.(cant win em all)

I saw Los Lobos there. Not the biggest name but they always have a decent band. (btw, not a lobos fan but they were great in concert)

Girls? Well had my wife there. It's not Del Rey quality or plentiful. All you need to know is free booze 24/7. There are some highly intoxicated girls there so salad!

Beaches in Punta Cana are world class. Curacao is a rock, the sand is delivered daily at the Marriott.

You know a bash at the Hard Rock in Punta Cana is not a terrible idea. Great casino, poker, girls gone wild, great golf, food and booze and rock and roll 24/7. They also have horse back, ATV tours, fishing, hooker night out and all the rest.

They have a new highway now. But yea, its a 35-40 min drive.

A gig like this will cost $200kish. Outside of Las Vegas we could probably count on $100k in sponsorship maybe even the whole event. In LV we would have a tube sausage in our hand for sponsorship. It's just the reality.

But I do understand what you're saying which is why I made my tiny plea for Oz and then ditched it. Although Melb has a world class casino/hotel rooms/poker/restaurants/bars/beaches/shopping... it doesn't have a "Strip" or is even a city that has a designated whore crossing or a known tourist area. We have brothels spread around everywhere, even in the friggen suburbs which is great I guess but I think a bash like this works when everything is contained in a specific area.

I'm totally happy with any choice. I've been to all the places on the list other than Goa, CR and DR (the last two I'm convinced are the only two in the running) which works out well for me minus the awful travel time. I'd love for the CR staff to be able to go somewhere new but from the sounds of it from everyone who went to the CR Bash it was off the charts so there's no bad option here.

Here's my itinerary from Melb to CR: Melb> LA > Dallas > Costa Rica = 26 hrs 15 mins travel time


and Melb to Punta Cana: Melb > LA > NY > Punta Cana = 41 fukking hours 52 mins of travel time, 50 hrs 50 mins on the way home

I swear to you that if I thought there were any hope of Vegas I'd be pushing HARD for it. You saw my itineraries... I have to go right by there to get anywhere else.
