Can anybody share their March Madness experience?
I just realized 1st and 2nd round games are in Philly (Wachovia Center). I always wanted to go. Ideally I want to go to Session 1 on Thursday which is the noonish games and the 230ish games. Anybody have any experience going to this??? It always seems like the stadium is relatively empty during the early games when I watch on TV. I only ask because tix are pretty expensive for lower section, and if its as empty as it seems then I would just buy the cheap seats and try to move down. Thanks for any help any of ya'll could provide.

I have been when it was here in DC tickets are very expensive and each school that plays will have an entire section of seats for their students and fans and alumni, We paid about $250 per ticket for the session here for round 1 thursday but that included UNC and some other heavy weight but can't remember who a few years back........ most seats are empty down low because those sections are assigned for certain schools already and when their team isn't playing most people don't show for the other games, a lot depends on your stadium as Verizon center has ushers who are anal and check tickets so they wont let you in if thats not where your seats are but you may have better luck

I'm from Latham, NY, right near SIENA SAINTS. As you remember from last year, Siena beat Vandy and played Villinova in the 2nd round last year in Tampa Florida.

I went down there FOR FREE. I was in the Siena College pep Band. We went to all the home games and to the NCAA for free and got paid to play in those games. IT WAS AMAZING. We then played for SD. St whose team didn't have a pep band.

          It was my best experience

i went a couple years ago to Rupp Arena for the first 2 rounds, it was pretty packed in the early session on day 1, cause UofL is only an hour away on I-64, and Ohio St ain't too far away, maybe 3 hours, and Xavier was there also.
It was a good first day. UofL, Ohio St, Tex. A&M, Penn, BYU, Xavier, C. Conn, and Stanford.

Lexington is a crazy B-Ball town and Rupp can hold around 22,000.

thats pretty sweet Sams. Any chance Siena going again this year so that you can go again?

loisvillekid, thanks for the knowledge bro. I was reading that top 4 seeds can be grouped into playing games close by so I'm hoping Nova can get a home game here in Philly, although that would probably drive up the tix price from scalpers. It's just something I have always wanted to go to so I'll probably buy these tix that are 100/each in the nosebleeds and see how it goes.

no, I;m at college now at Suny Plattsburgh. Last year, I was there b/c Siena doesn't have music program, so the program was run throuhg my High School. Now that I'm not in H. School, and I don't go there, I'm not in.

I was at the Final four in 1989 and in 2005, both for the Illini. It is a very energetic feeling and everyone should try to go to one of these in their lifetime.

I don't know how they are doing it there, but here when it was announced that UofL would be there, my brother called and we both checked with UofK's box office and UofL's box office and ticketmaster, we ended up buying tickets for all 3 sessions from ticketmaster for like 160 i think. Weren't bad seats, we were upper deck about 10 rows up, center court, aisle seats. Had a bunch of Ohio St. fans around us, pretty cool people, but most left after the first session and didn't return, so the whole section in front of us down to the rail got taken over by Xavier fans. A bunch of young and preppy obnoxious college kids(nothing against that), but they were going nuts and had all this confetti they kept tossing around, and started blowing up balloons, and then had a beach ball. It was a good game between X and BYU, might of went to OT, can't remember , but i remember it was close, closest game of the day i think.
