#77SBR claimed, time and again, that they had confirmed that Betislands' ownership group was well funded and well respected in the industry.
They now need to tell us who these "established" "financially secure" industry insiders are. We need to know what other books they have been or are associated with.
SBR owes us at least that much.Last edited by billysink; 12-19-12, 12:58 AM.Comment -

#79You really think SBR didn't comment to get an extra week of advertising? That's insulting but ok. We were fed a constant diet of everything is ok, we have new processing, payments will go out tomorrow, we always pay blah blah. Even up until Sunday we were assured payments would go out Monday. This morning they were still trying to buy another day and trying to convince us everything was fine. In hindsight we should of hit the panic button sooner. We all wish they would have followed through and got payments going instead of lying through their teeth.

Who the hell has the responsibility at SBR to be the actual watchdog.
Because they failed miserably. MISERABLY. And it wouldn't hurt for someone at SBR to say "Hey guys, we're sorry we failed you".
Instead, you're crying about being lied to.
The difference? Your pockets are lined with cash from BI. Your posters-- not so much.Last edited by SamDiamond; 12-19-12, 10:16 AM.Comment -

Hilarious, i think there is a message here...your forum hero tough guys are probably all the biggest assholes in life, while the "fat fukk" you constantly make fun of could be a honest person. #88who could use it as a tax write off? gambling losses can only be used to offset winnings. i suppose people could claim it as a "non-business bad debt" which shows up as a schedule d short-term capital loss. max of $3000/year, if i were claiming it i would just write non-business bad debt rather than "costa rica gambling operation stole my money".
Not for the player that is a tax write off it is SBR tax write off.Comment -

#93Should tobacco companies be liable for every lung cancer there is related to smoking? Should guns all be illegal with the shooting that took place?

It was comical. You had Dozer dropping BI's grade to "C" yesterday while BI had already closed up shop. John's common sense prevailed and it was dropped to "F".
But then it got wacky. They decided to let "Jon" post an apology. Serious guys? You thought that was a good idea?
SBR never really apologized for the delay (BandtheBook saw this fiasco with BI a month ago), and while SBR got their money---the angle they used was "we were lied to as well". Really?
I think I'll offer my P.R. services for free, so they can get this issue behind them.

SBR-- is a site that has earned or attempted to earn its stake by reviewing and recommending to its posting community which books are safe and which are not. They either directly (through SBR's Pro program) or indirectly (contest participation) endorse the books they fly banner ads for.
I think it's a reasonable position to make that if SBR has BI as a contest sponsor, the posting community should expect their money to be safe. And the moment it's not-- inform said community.
SBR failed on those fronts.
If you want to use cigarette smoking in your analogy, do it this way. If your physician prescribed you to smoke a pack a day for 4 years-- telling you that there is limited risk, and the physician feels so good about the company, that he's letting the tobacco company sponsor his annual office party----and you got sick as a result of that, I would think the doc has some responsibility toward you.Comment -

#103my point was just that they either knew, or had very good reason to know, back in the november 6th-11th time period. time frame is the only thing i was arguing with, saying they knew for more than a week yet still had them as a B rated book and the banner was still flying even after it was well known that it was deposit only.

#104That's not really an accurate analogy.

I really feel bad for everyone who lost their money in this scam. It's hard enough to win in this game let alone to even get paid..
I remember SBR having a little banner that said "don't risk getting paid" or something like that and this happens..
I'm sure there are a lot of people who do trust SBR for the books and I am too but not with BI but with Legends.
I hope something positive happens but by the looks of things, a lot of people are going to take it up the butt..
I feel that SBR needs to come out stronger and make a solid point and issue a more of a formal statement and an apology, but other then that what more can SBR really do?Comment -
