#708Bill Clinton's Aide & Advisor
"By scoring big on the economy, gas prices, and Libya, Romney continued his victorious string of debate wins. He looked more presidential than Obama did and showed himself to be an articulate, capable, attractive, compassionate leader with sound ideas.
Obama came over as boorish and Biden-esque. He did not learn from his Vice President's mistakes. When a president gets into a bar room brawl, he loses his dignity and his aura, key assets for an incumbent. Romney was polite but firm. Obama seemed quarrelsome, frustrated, nasty, and cranky."

I mean, are you fvcking kidding me? For real?
You and I both know who wrote this. Don't play dumb, not name him, act like he's still associated with Clinton and then say "I think he's an Indy, maybe a Repub now." Trying to brainwash SBR or what?
"Bill Clinton's Aid and Advisor." Classic. You and I both know Dick Morris is a fvcking kook who hasn't said one positive thing about anything (D) since the female prostitute scandal in '96 left him out on the street. He's a bitter partisan hack now and a laughingstock outside of the Fox News offices.Comment -

#714On August 29, 1996, Morris resigned from the Clinton campaign after tabloid reports stated that he had been involved with a female prostitute, Sherry Rowlands, as reported by the Washington Post. A New York tabloid newspaper, the Star, had obtained and published a set of photographs allegedly of Morris and the woman on a Washington, D.C., hotel balcony. News of the impending publication broke during the third day of the 1996 Democratic Convention. The Electronic Telegraph reported unverified claims that in order to impress the woman, S. Rowlands, Morris invited her to listen in on his conversations with President Clinton.[11][12][13] It was also alleged he had an illegitimate child from an affair with a Texas woman.[14]
Morris resigned on the same day that Bill Clinton spoke and accepted the nomination at the Democratic National Convention. In his resignation statement, he said that "while I served I sought to avoid the limelight because I did not want to become the message. Now, I resign so I will not become the issue."[15] In his response, President Clinton praised Morris as a "friend", and thanked him for his years of service. Privately, several of Clinton's aides were furious that in his resignation statement Morris credited himself with helping the President "come back from being buried in a landslide" and that Morris ended by comparing himself to Robert Kennedy.[16]Comment -

#722And how do you think this money gets distributed to the middle class? By gov't?
Let me explain something to you,
10 years ago I had a friend who dropped out of college at UNC to move to the Outerbanks and weave hammocks. We never understood it. Thought he was throwing away his future. Well after a couple years of making hammocks he met a guy on his island who liked to build sailboats. Nothing big, small stuff. But after sitting down with my friend they decided to try a bigger project. They took out a loan and built a 30 foot cutter, which they then sold to a millionaire banker from New York. That millionaire banker loved the boat so much he told all his friends about it. 10 years later my friend employs over two dozen people who make between $35,000 and $300K a year building sailboats for clients all over the world. Two dozen people who ten years ago were out of work and struggling to feed themselves. Over the years his company has donated money to help build three new schools, a new football/soccer stadium, an added wing to the local hospital, and renovations/equipment for the local sheriff's department. And that's on top of all the money he gives to the fed/state gov. and local community in taxes.
Rich people's materialistic vanity can indeed make the economy go round. It has spurred medical innovation and is the reason why we have flatscreen plasma televisions. It also the reason why my friend is now a multi-millionaire himself and has helped his top designers/builders become members of the wealthiest 1%.
He's sure as shit helped improve the lives of those two dozen other individuals a shit load more than gov't assistance ever did. And he's improved the local schools/hospital/community far more than government could do on its own.
Yea but you're friend (the successful businessman) in this case.....isn't materialistic. He actually gave to good causes through donation.
It isn't the same as most of the rich who are saving for themselves or their young (nothing wrong with that) but still we have more immediate problems that need to be dealt with too. Hence the need for taxation to begin with.
You're example is the opposite of that. If all rich people were like your friend....then I would have no qualms about keeping taxes for the ultra rich low as they are.Comment -

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates, Cash for Clunkers resulted in a $3.8 billion to $6.8 billion increase in GDP and over 60,000 jobs created or saved. The new vehicles obtained under the program were 58 percent more fuel efficient than the vehicles they replaced, with an average combined EPA rating of 24.9 miles per gallon, versus 15.8 MPG for the vehicles they replaced, reducing fuel consumption by 33 million gallons per year. And, there was a concomitant reduction in green house gases and other pollutants.
Maritz Research Findings: Cash for Clunkers Created Significantly More Incremental Automobile Sales Than Previously Reported
