As expected, quarterback Buck Pierce will return to the starting lineup for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on tonight against Hamilton and take the first snap after missing three games with a knee strain.
He'll wear a brace on his right hinge, but has shown full mobility in practice all week.
This will change things up... Can a guy wearing a brace REALLY have FULL mobility...

2 things jump out at me right off the bat when I typed the scores in...
1) When Pierce was in the first 3 games of the season.. Winnipeg Scored.. Lots!
2) Game 3, Hamilton Desperate for a win, Pierce was in 70% of the game... And they Sucked.. hard!
Now what does this say now that QB Pierce has been out for 3 weeks, WITH a brace on his knee... I can definitely see some conservative play calling to warm him up early on and just maybe have enough slow pace early on to keep this game under...
Lets not forget something on the Winnipeg Front.. Win QB Gyles played EXTREMELY well in his starts... In fact, last game AT Hamilton, he threw 24-35 for 349 yards, 2 TD's and No INTs... Now you bring your starter back a month later and ask him to perform at the same level... I'm almost.. Almost tempted to say that this may be the Biggest reason that Winnipeg WON'T cover...
Winnipeg has also had major Kicking woes, with K Serna getting let go, and bringing in a guy who's never kicked a CFL FG, and was once cut from the Riders struggling as a punter...
Other Notes
11 of 24 games this year in the CFL have been decided by 4 points or Less... the number moving to 4.5 could be huge?
The opening line was 3.5, and has since moved to 4.5 for Winnipeg... Possibley may even move another .5-1 point with the announcement of QB Pierce Starting...
Ti Cats and Bombers are playing each other for the 5th time in 8 weeks...
Ticats at 2-4 rank #1 in Red Zone Offence, and score 74% of the time they get in to opposing Red Zones vs League Avg 68%...
Ham WR A. Bruce III has 27 catches for 469 Yards in the last 2 games...
Hamilton has all sorts of Stadium issues, and relocation has been mentioned... Possibly a distraction?
Ham QB Glenn Threw for 371 Last week vs Winnipeg on 24-41 Passing... He threw for 425 yards @ Sask 2 weeks ago on 31 of 45... He is WAY Away the #1 passer in the CFL the past 2 games...
I may lay a small half unit on this game after all, as I don't feel that strongly about all the conflicting information that's been offered... I wouldn't be surprised literally if ANYTHING happened and I hate Guessing... Which is what this is, one big Guess as to How Pierce will play, and IF Glenn and Bruce have ANOTHER big game...
Recent history shows that Ti Cats are NOT a 2-4 team, but Winnipeg isn't either...
In the end I will lay a small half unit on Ti-Cats to cover based on Pierce's time off, and Ti Cats Crazy passing game... But I'm not thrilled about this game in the least... Much Much better value tomorrow In Toronto I think...
I will also think that if the cats Cover this game, which in some books has moved to 54.5 Total, will be Under... but I am not prepared at all to do much with that...Comment -
Great information BetterBizness, I don't really know much about CFL. Heck I didn't even know it existed until this season (I'm from Australia) but it does interest me. I've looked at the numbers and read your explantion and I might make a very small play at the unders.

Even thought the Juice is Rediculous... I really, really like the -135 on QB Pierce OVER 15.5 Yards Rushing... Despite being in a brace etc etc and The Bomber likely playing conservative with him... This year the Bombers BUILT packages AROUND his running, and each of his first 2 Games were 80+ yards... Although Game 3 vs the Tiger Cats he didn't have a rushing yard, but was playing horrible and eventually left with the knee Injury... My guess is that if he's good enough to play He'll be good enough to rush for a few...

The more I read, and more I think.. If you're going to lay off a game this week, unlike the luxury of the NFL where you get 14 per week, or baseball where you get 15 a day... This is a VERY tough game to Cap, and thus I would caution anyone out there to treat it as such...

I live in Melbourne so the AFL is my game
Melbourne are a young team with a slight possibly of still making the finals where as the Hawks won the premiership 2 years ago with a very good team, most of that team is still intact but they aren't playing nearly as good as they were 2 years ago.
Hawks would be a safe bet as they really need a win after playing horrible and geting smashed last week against the Swans. They didn't even turn up for the first half last week.
I would take the Hawks mL. I'm not sure what the odds are in CA/US terms but Hawks are paying $1.70 (If I got my maths right I believe that is -130)Comment -
