I live in Melbourne so the AFL is my game
Melbourne are a young team with a slight possibly of still making the finals where as the Hawks won the premiership 2 years ago with a very good team, most of that team is still intact but they aren't playing nearly as good as they were 2 years ago.
Hawks would be a safe bet as they really need a win after playing horrible and geting smashed last week against the Swans. They didn't even turn up for the first half last week.
I would take the Hawks mL. I'm not sure what the odds are in CA/US terms but Hawks are paying $1.70 (If I got my maths right I believe that is -130)
I didn't bet.. But I'm watching now in the 4th with Hawthorn up by 17... I couldn't get my book to get me a line.. but I'm working on it for next week.. nice post anyhow..Comment -

The obvious:
Calgary plays LOTS of unders - 5 of 6... Edmonton Tends to play more Overs - 4 of 6...
Calgary has NOT scored less than 23 Points ALL YEAR... and twice scored 30 or more... The only reason for Unders is that their Defense tends to play solid... Toronto scored the most with 27 as opposition, but the other 5 games, Calgary has held teams to 22, 20, 20, 22, and 16...
Now, Despite being a HOMER... this may have cover written all over it... Edmonton has HUGE troubles moving the ball, and their best WR Stamps is OUT... As I mentioned in a previous post, Edmonton churns out receivers quite regularly.. In fact, just one mans humble opinion which has been mentioned in this thread... Stamps, as good as he is, can basically be attributed to a BIG reason for Edmonton's 2 losses vs Sask, and Montreal with a Horrible Drop to put Montreal away, and a HUGE Fumble after the catch in Sask... Obviously the team is better WITH him than without, but maybe this is the week that a little more focus from the guys that have to make up for him not being there... WR Kelly Campbell, an NFL drop, could be THAT guy to step up...
Something I found interesting...
Edmonton is No. 1 in pass defence in the CFL, while Calgary is No. 2. In fact, the Esks have not given up a 300-yard game through the air this season. The defensive difference is that the Stamps have allowed just 554 yards along the ground, which is second-best in the league behind Montreal, while Edmonton has surrendered a league-worst 987 rushing yards.
On the Plus side... Cal RB Reynolds last 5 games, he has NOT hit 100 yards... In fact, he seems to be getting to be a forgotten part of the offense... Here are his numbers (most recent first - carries, then yards)
10-67, 9-30, 15-93, 9-44, 15-98, 17-116...
So does that mean he's going to light it up tonight??? Well, reading some Edmonton papers, it seems the club is STILL optimistic... And really, they are 1 game behind Winnipeg for the Crossover playoff spot... They SHOULD be optimistic... They have ALOT of weapons, they just had a HORRIBLE first 6 games...
Of course, I'm saying that from a guy that also just put a unit down at 50-1 to win the Grey Cup, becuase at the end of it all, the Esks just have to figure it out, and unlike the NFL, a 1-5 start is bad, but NOT devestating... Esks figure out a way into the Crossover game, and if they are playing well at that point of the year, who knows...
So I'm going to play a unit on the Esks to cover... Action betters may want a small ML bet here... I don't think the Esks will get killed, but then again, Calgary could EASILY win this game 24-14... I'm definitely leaning on the under in any case as well...
I know I said it last night with my Toronto ML play (that won), but this is probably a game that should be avoided... I'm mostly playing with alot of heart, and a little logic, but I just don't see crazy Value in Cal 8.5...
I am going with 1 Unit Parlay Edmonton +8.5 + Under 52.5 ... We're doing well for the week, but I know I'm only playing this because I want the action... I would avoid this game however if I wasn't such a Homer...Comment -

yeah BB not a bad week in CFL.. we won with Sask, TO, I didnt play Ham/Winn.. and won with TO and Stamps... lost the under on Stamps Esks.. DAM IT STAMPS scored over the total all by themselves... next week is bye week for west so only 2 games.... i look for Mont to be 7-9 Favs vs Winnpeg and Argos to be 3-5 favs vs ti-cats... may play some nfl pre-season next week to.

lines are out mont -11 total a 56; Tor -2.5 total at 54... havent looked at the games in details but my first thought is grab Argos at -2.5 before lines goes to -3 or higher.. the other numbers are right on...
