#1898Saturday 3.17.2012 final card
3* Kansas State/Syracuse 1H under 62 - WINNER
3* Gonzaga/Ohio State over 137 (-105) - WINNER
3* Marquette -5 (-107) - WINNER
3* Colorado +8 - LOSER
3-1 +5.7u.
11-8 +4.5u NCAA Tournament to date.
thought Colorado was going to have a chance, down 61-60 with under 8 minutes remaining, but Baylor hit 4 straight 3PTs to close on a 19-3 run. even Scott Drew can't screw up a performance like that.Comment -

#1901Biff,like it to,though still looking. State's overall size is nothing like Hoyas just played against. Possible turnovers scare me though. State's on a nice roll, mentally gotta think in the right place. Hoya zone shouldn't be as effictive here.Comment -

#1902yeah, NC State in great form and have size to match Gtown. really like getting the points here, as i think it's a one-possession game.Comment -

#1903NC State hits the offensive boards hard with their athleticism. I would like to see Hoyas start only one guard again and see how that goes today...Comment -

#1912here what i wrote about that gm....
SLU+7 (hold out maybe you can get a 7.5)...i know a case could be made that msu is playing some of the best ball in the country (have them in the final 4 myself in most brackets) but imo there some value going against them with the points here..slu is one of the most methodical teams in the country, seriously limiting possessions in a gm which instantly makes this amount of points appealing to me (slu has lost a grand total of 1 gm all season by more than 7 points)..
while Izzo and sparty will get all the pub as a very good tourney coach and team (rightfully so) , Majerus is no slouch in tourney time himself, as it turns out limiting possessions, being efficient on offense, playing solid D, and cleaning up the defensive glass (all things slu does very well) translates to victories this time of the year...Of coarse i will hear "Billikens have no answer for Draymond Green", which is absolutely true, they do not. they do have a solid team that will play a kind of gm that lends itself to being low scoring and tight..the kind of gm i might add sparty is not going to shy away from, with msu determination for hitting the offensive boards and slu's (even though undersized) ability to keep teams off the glass this should be somewhat of a slugfest as i dont expect either team to be lighting it up as both play very good perimeter d...ultimately i believe slu will have the adv in the turnover battle and hold their own on the glass in what should be a low scoring gm where a score in the low 60's will win it, in a gm like that give me the 7 (or more) points all day every day.....
been good, lot of things going on these days and just havnt had the time to properly dedicate myself to the forum this season....mizzou was kinda depressing, guess my early season skepticism turned out to be correct unfortunately, but 1st round? ouch...Comment -

#1913How you feel about the Purdue/ku gm? i really havnt had a chance to see much of Purdue down the stretch so may be more of instinct but think this could be another battle....honestly i think unc, msu, and ku all have their hands full today, and with the way kids got fat on fav ml parlays yesterday a outright loss or 2 in this group would not surprise me...Comment -

#1914Quite happy to see UW and Marquette in the sweet 16 (even though I was on Vandy!) Not quite sure about St. Louis although Rick has WI ties all the way back to Al McGuire. Should be a great match up against Izzo.

#1915personally, i'm not crazy about it, but that's because i lean over for the game (i have it finishing between 130-135). i think that if you like the under, 1H is definitely the way to go. FSU has some shaky ball-handling, and UC will pressure them, which i think will lead to relatively quick pace for a UC game and also a fair amount of fouls, so the 2H should be relatively high-scoring once those fouls add up. BOL whatever you decide.Comment -

understand your concern with slu as sparty is playing very good baskeball, just a matchup i feel lends itself to a close gm..refs will play a big factor which is also worrisome, i need the gm to be called somewhat tight so slu doesnt get bullied..in the end just feel like this number has some inflation so have to play it...
wish ive had more time as you guys are what i miss about this placeComment -

#1919like Purdue and over. i have that game as something like KU, 78-74. Purdue has been playing way up tempo lately to get more shots/more easy shots from the pace since they don't have a post game. Purdue is not great defensively, but they don't turn it over and they've been scoring like crazy (haven't been held below 70 since mid-Feb game at Illinois, and it's not as if they had to score 70 to win that one).Comment -

#1924phew, glad we got that one. NC State got just enough against the zone, and really helped themselves on the offensive boards. almost let Gtown force OT with their shaky FT shooting, but all things considered a pretty solid winner, dog that led entire 2H.Comment -
