[1st Half] LSU-Houston Over 69 [-110]
I think both sides oblige the other with a solid tempo to start this one. Houston in almost every game they have played has gotten out to a quick start shooting-wise. They are averaging a shade under 40 pts per 1st half this season. Defensively, they have had their issues at times. Outside of their opener with Grambling State, they have given up at least 36 points to their opponents in each 1st half with 43 allowed in each of the last two against Oakland & TCU. LSU under Trent Johnson is attempting a Euro-style of play which should be fine with the tempo being quickened. I trust LSU more to start strong than I do to finish strong as seen with their games so far. In four of six this season, they have scored at least 40 in the 1st half.Comment -

Pitt-Duquesne Under 151 [-110]
Both teams certainly have the capability to score a ton here and blow by this number, but this series has historically been an UNDERs hitter with five straight hitting in that direction. Pitt's ppg average is 80.5, but it's not an up-tempo attack - it's just superbly efficient. Duquesne meanwhile is an up-tempo team that wants to run it and gun it. They allow just over 73 ppg, but are great at forcing turnovers due to their pressing style. Pitt won't run with the Dukes, but I expect they'll pick some spots to take advantage. Pitt's D was run over early, but has improved lately and will need to be solid tonight in transition to keep this under ... but I think it will stay in the 140s.Comment -

Tried to figure out why not to take a chance in what should be an ugly and close defensive battle here and I can't find one. Both teams have been terrific on defense, holding opponents to FG percentages in the 30s. Offensively, I think a slight edge to FSU. They shoot the 3 better, FTs better and better in general from the floor. This game is probably won on the boards where both teams excel. In a tight game, definitely like the points.Comment -

Until someone figures out how to slow Vegas' pace, I think OVERs are in order. UCSB has a pretty efficient offense. The Gauchos have put up 80+ points in three straight home games this season and only one was against a total cupcake. UNLV has topped 90 three times already this season and appear to love Dave Rice's return to the old Tarkanian Runnin Rebels.Comment -

Zags have had trouble defending the 3 and Notre Dame is likely to continue to hoist them up, even without Abromatis. Irish are making 38% from beyond the arc, while Gonzaga is allowing 43%. Looking for ND to try to get out to a hot start from deep. Gonzaga should be able to find some room down like with the likes of Sacre and Harris for points.Comment -
