Hey COU. I am new but I try to post about every day or so. I am tailing you! I suck at capping but play anyway. You are making me money! Wish I could send you a Christmas gift! I check in and read lots more than I post. I was at Fort Bragg, NC and followed ACC basketball for years. Fun time with Jordan and lots of other great players and teams. They were on TV every night there before cable if you can believe that. Loved it. I like taking dogs and do okay on the NFL. Just don't have the time to devote to capping NCAA basketball like I used to do.

Side note for canepole. I was in the 2/508th Infantry, 1st Brigade, 82d Airborne Division for 9 years. Loved being a paratrooper. Airborne all the way! Okay showing my age, I was there from 1977 to 1985.

COU you are the bomb. Keep it up. Living in Omaha now. While I was winning 600 with Providence, I was at the Horseshoe in Council Bluffs losing 400 on blackjack. Oh well. Got in last night and saw the win. Put 5 units on Long Beach State for the second half and 3 units on Xavier. Good night all in all! I play the same units you do.

For those of you who missed this here is my recap of the POY game

Ok lets break down this Providence @ Rhode Island ( Play of the Year )

So This game opened up as Providence -6 @ Rhode Island and went up to a peak up -7. I was watching the line movement and saw it drop to a low point of Providence -3.5. I was pretty confident that PC would win this game but the RLM was bothering me some but I was going with what I capped. I originally thought this game was going to close at PC -8.5 due to the issues with Jamal Wilson being questionable, Nikola Malessovic being out and TJ Buchannan who I was 99% positive he wasn't playing but he ended up playing. When I plugged in my first run downs of this game I had Providence winning by 20 points because I thought Malesovic and Wilson were out. I understood that Malone and Barron were eligible for their first games of the season and issued them a combined total of 18 points because that was what I thought they could do at the highest.


I wasn't going to let this linemovent knock me off of my POY I was riding this game out . I don't care about line movement as much as most guys on this forum do. I only truly care about the opening number. The Closing number is late money coming in that has little value to me because its just a bunch of guys watching the lines thinking oh all the money is coming in on this team. Was I nervous about that line movement ? Yes of course I was shitting my pants I wasn't expecting the line to go from -6.5 to -3.5 thats not to common and I'm not really sure why it dropped that low.

Alright settling in for the night watching/listening to the Xavier game sitting on 5X on this game right now, but my main reason for this post is to talk about this POY I posted. The Friars were led by the Triple threat they bring to the court. Gerard Colemen put in 16 points and shot a phenomenal 8-12 from the field and picked up 6 rebounds. Pretty solid night for him. Bryce Cotton laid in 19 points and had a rather pretty good shooting night actually. He went 5-13 from the field 2 of those being 3 pointers. Cotton is the teams 3 point shooter but he only went 2-7 from behind the arc. Vincent Council the teams general projected 15 points and led his team to a victory 6 assists. True leaders lead their team! The Wild CARD player I was banking on was Sophmore 6'9 Forward Kadeem Batts he only took 4 shots and went 3-4 from the field but he laid in 7 points. A huge boost for the team believe it or not this guy will change the Friars look in the game.

As a team Providence went 28-58 from the field and shot 48.3% from the field pretty solid shooting. This game should of been of wider margins though because PC only shot 22-35 from the Freethrow. 63%


Now lets look at this Rhode Island team that saw Reverse Line movement all over the board and Sharp money pounding the Running Rams .

I was sitting on Twitter for 12 hours watching Jamal Wilsons twitter looking for any sort of info I could find and was all over the college basketball injury report pages trying to figure out if Wilson was playing or not. I had come to a conclusion though that Wilson was playing but wasn't fully convinced he would be starting. Many of the RI fans thought he would start the 2nd half but not start the game. Which made me a little more at ease. So the 2 transfers Andre Malone and Bill Baron combined for a total of 7 points...... I was giving the both of them 18 points so the transfers had no Impact what so ever. I was seeing so much hype from the COX sports page about Billy Baron being a true game changer that I had to oblige. Turns out he logged 26 minutes and went 0-7 from the field. Jamal Wilson the teams leading scorer who was coming back from a 1 game suspension only put 5 points in and went 1-12 from the field. Wow what a shitty ass shooting night for this kid. His Twitter page was more worried about watching Toy Story with his son and being home for Christmas though. Nothing wrong with him wanting to be with his kid though but I was taking that into consideration also. Apparently his focus wasn't all their. Orion Outerbridge played his normal game though and put up 13 points he did his fair share and did what he was support to do

Rhode Island as a team shot 30% from the field and that sure as hell isn't going to win you a basketball game 20-66 from the field 3-20 from behind the 3 point ARC that is the STAT I WANTED TO SEE . I was hoping Rhode Island would shoot 3s like crazy because they are a pure shit ass 3 point shooting team but they continue to shoot the 3 even though they blow at the 3. The only thing that even kept this game somewhat close is the free throws they shot 75% 18-24


In the end the 2 Transfers and Jamal Wilson that were shuffling the line movement so much had no impact on this game what so ever and the Rivalry game ATS Stat meant nothing what so ever in his game either.

Jamal Wilson ended up being over hyped in the end and not focused ( Hence Twitter Posts giving me info )
Billy Baron the coaches son who was praised to be better then his older brother ended up going 0-7
Andre Malon the Auburn transfer who was suppost to be explosive driving to the rim did nothing

With Conference play Starting in January I picked Marquette to win the Big East a month ago. Those of you who have been tailing me realize this. I havnt looked at all the teams conference schedules but Marquettes schedule is in their favor. It pretty flawless scheduling when it comes to home and away positions

just to throw in the discussion, i pretty much only bet unders, and i got destroyed in the hawaii classic games. a lot of the games went WAY over. the fouls have been happening at such a ridiculous rate. I dont see the refs getting any less dependent on their whistles. Any overs you are on, I will most likely tail...Good Luck

Ok guys so I just finished up capping this 7th place game between Southern Illinois and Xavier. Im actually really shocked with the numbers I came up in this game and kinda baffled to tell you the truth Ive ran this game twice already and I'm gonna run it 1 more times on adjusted numbers again. On my first projection I came up with a number of 119 points Xavier winning 64-55 leaving Southern Illinois covering the spread at +13.5 or +13 depending on either number currently listed. On my second projection I adjusted and pushed Xavier to a total score of 70-55 Xavier winning this game by 15 points and still going under the listed 128.5 points posted or 128 posted depending and if your lucky the 129. I pushed it up to 70-55 with the game turning into a 15 point win not a blowout but not a large margin of a victory in my books. I don't consider a game a blow out unless its 19 or more points which I think is a fair number to start that at. My third projection was run against only the best teams each of the teams has played and did not include any of the cupcake or below average teams. Yes I realize this is a bit harder to use on Southern Illinois but still comfortable with what I came up with.

The problem with trying to cap this Southern Illinois team is....... you have no FKING IDEA what team is going to show the FUK UP. This is pissing me off trying to cap these kids stats. Their numbers are all over the fking board. The bench is so fking deep this is ridonkoulous. On my 3rd and final projection I might do one more not sure I came up with a projected total of 129 points Xavier winning 67-62 landing on 129. This is pretty fked up. Because 2 of 3 of my numbers just told me to play Southern Illinois +13. My second projection has Southern Illinois losing by 15 points and I came up with an UNDER in 2 of the 3 scenarios but the 3rd one was only over by 1 Point or a push for some people at 129


Even if this game turns into a blowout it would end somewhere along the lines of Southern Illinois 50- Xavier 80 landing at 130 points and a squeaker on the OVER


Im not really comfortable playing this game heavy, but I am going to make a play on this game

Fuk if I no which of these kids on SIU are even fking eligible to play

I ran this one final time on adjusted time and came up with Southern Illinois 60- Xavier 66

holy **** am I going to get burned on this fking or what?????? On 3 out of 4 projections I came up with Southern Illinois covering +13 and they only didn't cover the 4th projection by 2 points! And I came up with UNDER 128.5 in 3 out of 4

In conclusion all my numbers are pointing to Southern Illinois +13.5 and UNDER 128.5

Ehhhhhhhh I don't no if I can really make a HERO play on this game though and go for the double whammy playing Southern Illinois +13 and UNDER 128.5 is asking for a lot actually. Im rather undecided but will say i am pretty comfortable with Projection 2 and 4 which would put the game @ UNDER 128.5

Straight up this game took me 2 hours to fking cap and I don't even no if I capped this game write at all. don't worry guys I'm not throwing a Game of the Month of Play of the Year at you on this one.

So I will be risking

5X on the UNDER 129

2X on SIU +13.5
