Wake Forest cannot be favored in this game. The Demon Deacons are just 2-4 on the season and clearly miss their best player in John Collins (19.2 ppg, 9.8 rpg), who left early for the NBA. It also hurts that Dinos Mitoglou decided to play overseas. They have some young talent, but it has been an ugly start to the campaign.

They lost to Georgia Southern 83-85 as 10.5-point home favorites, lost at home to Liberty 66-79, lost on a neutral to Drake 74-77 as 9.5-point favorites, and lost on a neutral to Houston 73-78 as 2-point dogs. Their only two wins came against Quinnipiac (72-55) on a neutral and UNC-Greensboro (81-75) at home.

Underwood has this offense hitting on all cylinders right now as the Fighting Illini are averaging 89.0 points per game on the season. Illinois is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games after scoring 85 points or more in three straight games coming in. Underwood is 9-0 ATS after playing two consecutive games as a favorite in all games he has coached.

Illini have to be one of the dumbest team I've ever watched...fouling to lose. Otherwise they would be up at least 10-15.

Wake is Horrible as Harry mentioned but Illini are dumb. Holy fkk the REFS are on the fix....so obvious..rip IL

I’ll be honest as to why they were -2.5

They have played better teams, hands down. 3 of Illinois wins come from the worst of the worst in D1, and a D2 team.

Saying Illinois scores 89 pts a game when half their games are basically exhibition becomes kind of irrelevant.

Wake isn’t a good team, but neither is Illinois, and in a pretty even matchup, the books decided to lean on home court.

Either side isn’t that bad of a pick and hence it’s 58-55 with 8 to play. GL.

Hoping I can get another shot at WCU +9.5 1h. Passed on it earlier -105, hoping it would hit +10. Instead it went back to +9 -110.

Agreed They go 2 units deep. Gonna be a huge plus for them when schedule starts getting busy. Need to go old school razorbacks 40 minutes of hell imo. Feel like they gonna have trouble initiating offense against good half court teams. Smith has flashes of being special no doubt.
