How do you know how much a unit is? Is there a percentage per amount you bet which is a unit? Meaning, just to say if my bankroll was $100 bucks, what would be 1 unit of $100 be? Thanks for your help

#2Everyone is different. The most inportant thing is to be consistent with managing your units properly. You shouldn't bet too much of your bank roll on any given game. It's best to stay at 10% or under. As your bankroll grows so should your unit size. For example, if you start with 100 and you get it up to 200 then you might stool bet 10% on a game but it would be 20 bucks instead of 10 that you did at the beginning.Comment -

#3Since everyone has a different size bankroll it's easier to tell how strong a play is by using units or "X". For example lakerboys units are worth 100 per unit to him but I dint bet that much so when I go with his plays I use $25 per unit. So if he bets a game at 4X then he is playing $400 but I only take it for $100. Just manage your units to the strength of the play.Comment -

#6GL grec!! If you did use something like a 10% as a standard play then if you really like a play I'd put 20% on it but not much more than that to be safe.Comment -

#7A unit SHOULD be 1%, meaning that a two-unit play means 2% of bankroll, 3 units = 3%, etc...Comment -

#8Oh and 10% is nuts.
99% of my plays are 2.5%, and the other 1% of my plays are in the 3.5-4.5% range.Comment -

#15Its really up to you pal. Are you looking to stay in the action for a long period of time? Or do you wanna gamble and try to win money quick? I would be betting 50 a game if your roll is at 550. Best of luck to youComment -

#18That's about 10%! when I mentioned that you said it was nuts? Obviously the less you bet the safer it is fellas! There has been some good feedback here and I was just giving a thought on guidelines. I agree with what everyone has added,Comment -

#19fwiw, my units are 1% of bankroll. most of my plays are 3u, some 4u, rarely 5u, never more. so, most of my plays are 3% of bankroll plus juice. so, most i ever plays is 5.5% of bankroll, and i don't play those often, and generally only when i'm hot. playing 10% of bankroll will have you re-upping if you go through a cold streak lasting longer than a few days (going 1-2, 2-4, then 1-3 in a 3-day period would leave you down about 60%). i find re-upping more depressing than any loss i've ever taken.Comment
