Why Georgetown was "the sharp side" tonight
    1. Pinnacle (who hands out .08 cent lines) should always have the best line on the board for both sides. Occasionally Matchbook will have a sharper price, but they're hit and miss on spread sports. They have if not the, then one of the highest limits in the industry which should indicate that they're VERY confident with their numbers they put out.

    2. The following books (SIA, Bodog, Wager Street) have opinionated lines at lower prices. Each of these books will ban / dish out different lines from the public bettors if you play those lines there. Which means you're obviously doing something right.

    3. Whenever Pinnacle doesn't have the best number on a side, it usually indicates the "sharp side". Take the Georgetown - Pittsburgh game for example. The numbers were...

    Pinnacle: Pitt -1 (-108)
    SIA: Pitt -2 (-115)
    Bodog: Pitt -2 (-110)
    Wager Street: Pitt -1.5 (-110)

Anyone who wanted to bet on Pittsburgh would have done so at Pinnacle, while anyone who wanted to bet on Georgetown would have placed it at "the 3 stooges". This indicates a +EV wager on Georgetown (using Pinny as market price), with the greatest edge being at Bodog who had Georgetown +2 (-105).

The Half-Point Calculator isn't the worst tool in the world to figure out folks.

OK, this is interesting, this is the kind of topics I like to see at the forum. So when Pinny has the best price it's the loser. Have you tested this? Does it matter favorite or dog? More on high profile games? What does the half point calc have to do with it in this example?

The only 'sharp side' or 'value bet' is the winning side, and pointing that out AFTER the game has been decided is hardly grounds to lay out some 'gambling theory.'
