    The Play On Wednesday
After a rough time for me and a heap a debt I left gambling for a break. I got two legitamate jobs and dealt at various card halls for hours. The result, very little sleep, very little social life, a ton of money. Cleared all my debt and have a very small bankroll of only $2,000 each to start with for NFL, CFB, and CBB. Kept one of the jobs to have a steady income, albeit small, and hopefully can go back to being a successful gambler like I was before I picked up the drugs. Thanks for all who gave advice and all those who laughed. In hindsight that was a ridiculous post made by me lol, especially the way things resulted.

    Starting Bankroll: $2,000

    Detroit +18 (-104) to win $200
Yes, 10% of my bankroll. I feel strongly on this game and 10% is probably the highest I will ever go on a game from now on. California got a lot of pre-season hype and I don't understand why. I have seen the Bears ranked as high as #10 in some publications and I think that is a bit much. This is a ranked team but I think it resides more in the 21-25 range rather then 10-15 range. Cal's biggest problem last year was struggling to grip a new system brought in with Mike Montgomery. From everything I read this year they are much more confident and finally feel like they can run the system successfully for 40 minutes at a time. Last year, they had several games where they seemed to be lost in their own system.

Detroit is a team I have my eye on this year. I think they are going to surprise a lot of people and make a good amount of noise in the Horizon. This is a good match-up for them. Cal has a very exploitable defense. That alone makes it very hard to make an argument for laying 18. Detroit will stay within itself run the offense and play fundamental basketball. They defend the perimter well on the other side of the ball which should limit Cal's #1 ranked 3pt game. Detroit hung tough with a few good teams last year. They lost to Butler twice by less then 5 points so the ability is there. They had a terrible year last year but will make an impression expect Cal to struggle again, maybe they won't keep it as close as they did vs Murray State but I expect this to be an easy cover for me.
    California 72, Detroit 61

Just this forum had a few very good seasons at theRx but it's a little to much drama on that side of town. I will be posting here for the season.

                1st Half Thoughts:

                California 40
                Detrioit 32

This score should give us Detroit backers some confidence headed to the 2nd half. Detroit finds itself only down 8 despite California averaging almost 1 FT/minute. Detroit has moved the ball well on offense and has found a few open looks in the corner that they have been knocking down. The defense has been fairly solid with the FT's adding a little juice to Cal's point total. Detroit hasn't looked overmatched yet at all and after being down 14 they cut this lead to 8 just before the half and should head in with some confidence. Detroit +8 in the 2H is a solid play, I will be laying off only because I already have 10% of my roll down on this play. But I would advise those who are looking to turn a profit to bet Detroit +8 in the 2H. They are going to hang with Cal and worst case scenario Cal won't pull away by much leaving the backdoor open. Cal -8 2H will be a heavy sweat and in my mind a bet that isn't very profitable.

If the shots fall at an average rate, Detroit covers this.

That Robertson guy drained three 3's in a row and killed everything. I can't believe this Been gambling almost 1 week and already down over $400. Hey BJ do yourself a favor and keep your $1800

Shit happens. 2nd half collapses are bound to happen when you back mid-majors vs big opponents. Anyway, looking at a play for later. I will be up $$$ by the end of the month. Novemeber is typically a very big month for most CBB bettors.
