For pro sports like the NBA, i don't see them bothering with this. Just because theirs to much on the line for them, plus they all ready get paid the big bucks.

But what about college games? i could see a team taking a look at the spread. And even though they want to win, they want to cover even more.

Maybe this has been talked about before, but i couldn't find anything. Does anyone else possibly think that some college teams try and go and cover the spread, rather than just the win?

Point shaving has been prominent for years in college games and I doubt it has ended by any means. It is just too easy to slow the tempo of a game down to keep the under going or to allow the other team to cover the spread.

Especially the bad teams, underdogs. They don't like vegas disrepecting them, and once in a while they're cover or win a big moneyline game because of that extra motivated factor.

i think its much more common in games where teams are heavily favored, stay away from the big lines and you shouldn't run into it much at all
