Does anybody have an idea why Texas is favored tonight?

Texas 6-1
NOVA 8-0

Villanova has the statistical edge in every category except rebounding, and they are tied in defense.

Only thing I can think of why they are dogs is because they really havent played same talent as Texas, but they still are a great team with some seasoned starters. Wondering what everybody thought on this one.

Texas is getting a lot of love thanks to JJ Abrams. They beat UCLA and only lost to Notre Dame by a point. Both ranked opponents.

The closest thing Nova has to a quality win is Rhode Island - so they are largely untested and their stats are slightly inflated.

That said this is a virtual home game for Nova. They have fans in NYC and will have some travel from Pennsylvania. I see this closer to a toss-up than leaning heavily to either side.

Your right about texas travelling but, they have had 5 days off resting up and preparing for scotty reynolds.

Very small play on texas for me, however Nova is going to be the suprise team in the Bigeast this year.

Free throws will be the key tonight down the strech. Be advised they have been cramming school work they lost out on during the tip, patching up family ties. They will not be ready for the game. Not the entire two halfs is my thinking. Nova wants to prove something tonight.

You can't ignore points in the paint and free throws, just look what Nova did last year to them.

Wasnt that game played 2 seasons ago? Jan of 2007 would be 2 seasons ago. But yeah I respect your opinion and evaluation, and it will be a fun game to watch thats for sure.

I like NOVA in this just something about it, Texas has traveled and its pratically a home game for Nova. They both have great D but I agree I think Nova hits th FT's down the stretch and wins it

don't think these 18-22 year old kids are gonna feel the effects of "tired-ness" this early in the year.... man some of these kids are used to playing every day for 4-10 hrs.....
