When many people wager on one team, the spread, or the line may move because the sportsbook wants to have even action on both sides (in other words, they want as many people betting the favorite as there are betting the underdog). They would make the most money and throw in the juice.

But yeah, you think Miami is 8 points better than mavericks? Whats the reason to play miami.

Since their loss to Dallas, which was the last before they started their winning streak. They have beaten the following teams:

Cleveland
Washington
Detroit
Atlanta
Milwaukee
GSW
Utah
Hornets
Knicks.

I'll admit, a few of those teams are toughish opponents, but they haven't come up against the likes of, Lakers, Mavs, Celtics, Magic in those games.. It's only a matter of time before the streak ends, and the best team to do that now is the Mavs. Not to mention their away record of 8-1 and the trends that tend to show more teams win away than at home. Think what you like, but I love Dallas ML on this play!
