11.24.09 (1:30pm ET): [Germany Bundesliga] Bremerhaven vs. Hagen UNDER 168.5 (-115)
This number seems inflated. Sure, Bremerhaven is a solid scoring club with totals of 73, 89, 80 & 80 in their four home games, yet their totals in 10 games have only beaten this number twice with a few landing right on 168. At home, they yield about 80 ppg. Hagen has only topped this number once in ten tries. They average a shade below 75 ppg & concede about 85 ppg. This game certainly will have points, but it seems likely to land in the low 160s. Bremerhaven comes in off their season-worst of 54 points against Brose which isn't a great defensive club.

Hornets are playing poorly again and have 45 thanks to 10 free throws. Kings shooting is solid, over 50%. Expecting that they might pull away and that could mean garbage time. Hornets don't seem to have the tools to put together big offense with all their injuries, etc. 57-45 Kings lead.

Sixers shot like total crap, 33% and got 43 points thanks to 10 FTs. This one looks prime for garbage time. As long as Philly stays aggressive, this will still have a shot even if the Mavs continue to pound them. Helps that Dallas is shooting over 50%. Need a big 3rd quarter.

12.1.09 (11am ET): [Eurocup] Azovmash Mariupol vs. Alba Berlin OVER 146.5 (-110)
The Ukraine side, Azovmash Mariupol, let Turkish side Galatasaray blitz them 96-82 in their Eurocup opener. The game was heavy on 3 point attempts which is usually a good omen for an OVER if both sides can make side. The Ukranians hit 16 of 29 from distance, while allowing 9 of 25 from the Turks. In domestic play, Azovmash averages a shade over 77 while yielding about 75 ppg. In their last 6, the Ukraines have given up 77 or better in 5 of 6. For the Germans, they come into this competition as one of the stronger sides, leading the German Bundesliga at 8-2. They won their EC opener, 75-73. They shot over 50% from 2 point range & 9 of 20 from distance. Especially intriguing for this game is that they allowed 14 of 25 from distance for their opposition. ALBA played a few games in Euroleague before competition before being eliminated, but at home, they scored 76 ppg in two games. Domestically, they have been dominant & scored 78 or better in 3 of their last 4. The Ukraines may be at home here, but their defense appears to be somehwat soft. ALBA did not travel particularly well in the Euroleague qualis, but this Ukraine side is a step down from those sides. At home, Azovmash should put up a good fight and appears capable of eclipsing 70 points or approaching it. If the Germans take advantage of the soft Ukraine D, they should be able to get 80 at least. If they do that, this should get done.

lol I hate this... missing everything in the 4th quarter... They hit everything in the first 10 minutes and now they can't even hit freethrows....

let's hope they start scoring again before it's too late

I cashed this one BL because Thank goodness I waited until this morning to place my wager. The line dropped from 148.5 to 146.5. Those missed FTs were F-ing making be puke. I thought I was gonna lose another one by a point! Nice to be on the right side of a close one!

12.1.09: [2nd Half]: Celtics/Bobcats OVER 87 (-115)
I kno guys have their rules about blowout games, etc. - but this one seems decent for the over. Ton of fouls in the 1st half and even with Boston crushing Charlotte, 62-39 ... the 2nd half could have points. Garbage time will definitely be here sooner rather than later. Charlotte shot just 31% in the 1st half, they had been putting up close to 47% in their last 5. Boston's D was also a bit leaky prior to today. Celtics not likely to duplicate 52% from the floor, but Charlotte should be better than 31%. Even it all out and so long as there is still some aggressive play (fouls), this should have a shot.

Hot shooting from both, especially Miami at almost 57%. 27 FT attempts is a sign of solid aggressiveness from both, so even with the shooting probably evening out - FTs can help the over here. Both have been average on defense in their last 5, so chances are scoring can continue at a decent pace. Portland needs a run, trailing by 10 (60-50).

12.2.09 (11:30am ET): [Finland Korisliiga] Namika Lahti/KTP 167.5 (-115)
Played to a 182 point total when they last met. Lahti scored 86 & 96 in their last two home games. They have given up 79 points or more in 6 of their last 7. KTP gave up 114 in their last road game and have yielded 90 or more in 3 of their last 5 on the road. Their 57 point total on the road last time is not indicative of how they usually score. Their other 7 road games, they hit for 70 or better. If they get 70-75 today, I think Lahti at home is capable of doing the rest.

Still scoring in Finland. 190 points with under 2 minutes to go. Boo-ya. The Honka match did wind up going over as well, so either would have been a winner. Still looking at the Euroleague for today, one might be playable.

12.2.09: Grizzlies/T-Wolves OVER 201 (-116)
Rudy Gay is back for Memphis tonight and that always helps. Last time they met in Memphis, only 184 points scored. 3 point shooting was horrid, 3 of 29 combined. Neither lights it up from distance, but both defenses are bad enough that more should be scored from beyond the arc. Memphis averages about 103 on the road & has given up 96 or better in their last 6 straight on the road. That should bode well for Minnesota which is only putting up 88 ppg at home. They have however scored 111, 95 & 106 against up-tempo squads in their last 3. Their D continues to be porous, allowing 101 ppg at home and almost 108 during their last 5 games. Memphis is OVER in 8 of 11 on the road and have topped 100 points in 7 of those 11. 98 to the Clippers was their best defensive effort.

Back to the land of plenty for this one in Finland. First time these two met, there were 159 points scored when they played at FoKoPo. In 7 road tilts, FoKoPo games have hit better than this total five times. At home, Kataja has beaten this number in 7 straight. They have scored over 93 points in 4 of their last 5 at home. Defensively, they have allowed more than 80 points at home in 6 of 8. FoKoPo is coming in off their best road performance, a 100-93 win over Karhu. These two played to some lofty totals last season in all four meetings and put up quite a few the first time they met, if FoKoPo continues to leak points (475 allowed in their last 5), this has a legit shot.

A huge 1st quarter and then an average 2nd with a 64-51 lead for the Knicks. They are shooting lights out, over 60%. Relying on the 3 quite a bite, but ATL has been giving up 46% 3 point shooting in their last five, so they may remain hot. Hawks are shooting just 41% on a high volume of shots. Need more FTs here, both teams have been OLE with their D of late. Expecting a Hawks run which should balance out a lower % for the Knicks. Need more aggressiveness to finish this one.

Mavs not shooting well in the first half against Memphis' porous defense. Grizz shooting 53%. Dallas has shot over 50% in their last 5, while Memphis has yielded greater than 50% in that same span. Dallas will likely pour in more points. They had 51 in the 1st half in spite of the low shooting. Memphis may even out some, but I think Dallas will make up for it with better shooting. Both squads need to take it to the rack and get more FTs. 19 attempts in the 1st half.

Miami has given up 100 points or more in 5 of their last 6 road games & 98 points or more in 6 straight on the road. The Kings average 109 points at home. Sacramento has scored at least 102 points in 8 straight and in 9 0f 10. Jermaine O'Neal is out which might open up the interior more for the Kings. SAC has hit 101 or better in 14 of their 18 overall this season and 9 of 10 at home.

12.7.09: [Argentina Liga A] Lanus Buenos Aires vs. Boca Juniors OVER 148.5 (-115)
These two teams have met twice already this season with both games going over tonight's total with finals at 152 & 164. Lanus is putting up almost 77 ppg at home this season, while allowing 73. Boca Juniors are a solid offensive outfit, averaging 83 ppg on the road this season, while allowing almost 80. Boca has scored 72 points or more in 10 straight games and have only been held below 75 once on the road in 9 tries. Lanus hasn't put up a total lower than 72 at home all season. With these two teams in a logjam of five teams fighting for 3rd place, this figures to be another competitive match-up. Neither team lights it up from long range, but they attack well - especially Boca Juniors - which should mean plenty of free throws. There were 48 FT attempts in the first meeting in Lanus & 49 in the 2nd meeting at Boca. That's always a plus when looking for an OVER.

12.7.09: [2nd Half] Warriors/Thunder UNDER 109 (-115)
OKC shooting woefully against a bad Warriors defense. G-State shooting well with a short bench. Loads of FTs, 32 attempts. James Harden had 10 FT attempts by himself. Can't expect that again, but who knows with NBA refs. OKC may heat up a little offensively, but I think if they don't get enough FTs, they won't score enough. Warriors may run short on people with more fouls, so perhaps a little less aggressive. Always an adventure to take an UNDER with Golden State.
