    11.6.09 [2nd Half] Hawks/Bobcats OVER 90.5 (-110)
Bobcats surprising the Hawks with a 61-48 half-time lead, shooting over 50%. Cats aren't adept at offense, but the Hawks have had issues over their last few with stopping teams. ATL shot well (48%) and got to the line 12 times in the 1st half, so they have a shot to keep pace here, but may not be able to limit Charlotte (7/12 from 3). Won't expect 60 even 50 probably from the Cats, but if they are able to get into the mid 40s against this flimsy defense, Hawks should be default with trying to play catch-up finish up a possible OVER.

              11.7.09: Grizzlies/Clippers OVER 201 (-108)
Memphis has not been able to stop anyone so far this season, giving up 115 ppg. The Clips come off their best shooting performance in a 118-90 win over the Warriors. They have shot well early on and should be able to beat the weak D of L.A. for 100+. Clips' FG% defensively has been solid, but they are still giving up around 98 ppg. 2 of the 3 meetings last season went well above this total & if Memphis can get 90-95, I think LA is capable of doing the rest.

                11.7.09: [2nd Half] Kings/Jazz OVER 103.5 (-110)
Two poor defenses here. Kings shooting over 50% in the 1st half without Martin in there, 8 of 10 from distance. Plenty of FTs and that would bode well in the 2nd half if this game stays close. Sacramento is the key here as they must stay hot for this to have a chance. Utah will score for sure.

                    11.8.09: [2nd Half] 76ers/Pistons UNDER 95.5 (-110)
Both teams shooting in the low 40s. Not a lot of FTs so far. Rip Hamilton is out today for DET. 43-47 Pistons at the half. Pistons on pace with their other two home games to score in the mid 80s. They allowed 80 & 91 in those two games. Their offense may not be stellar and that is good here because Philly's D has been torn up by teams that have a clue. Pistons D has been solid (41% FG). Expecting the snooze fest to continue.

                        11.8.09: Timberwolves/Trail Blazers UNDER 188.5 (-108)
Both teams have been pretty solid defensively, while struggling on offense. Outside of whipping the hapless D of the Suns for 112, Minnesota hasn't topped 95 points since their opener against New Jersey. Portland is allowing just under 92 ppg, so chances are they can hold the T-Wolves to the mid 80s to 90. Portland has only topped 100 once themselves, so this one seems like for a finish in the high 170s to lower 180s if defense prevails.

The Suns' 7 games have hit 106 or better 6 times. The faster preferred pace of Phoenix should also work better for the Sixers who are a better transition team I think than a half court team. Philadelphia has played two other squads who prefer a bit faster tempo in Orlando & New York and they were not able to contain either very well with both 1st halves going over this number and the game totals well into the 200s. Suns should be able to take advantage of a Sixers D that is poor defending the 3 (40%) where the Suns excel (43% on the road). The back-2-back scenario for both should be lessened since they both played day games on Sunday.

                                11.9.09: Timberwolves/Warriors OVER 214.5 (-105)
Warriors have given up over 100 points in all five of their games. 4 of 5 have hit for higher than this total. Minnesota gave up 116 to Portland who had not been very explosive on offense. They also gave up 120 to Phoenix in the only other game where they faced an up-tempo offense. Bad defense vs. bad defense.

Free throws may continue to mount as this one winds down. Game should get closer IMO with the Heat probably making a run.

What do you think about Cibona today vs Zalgiris? I read in the papers that the first 3 losses in the Euroleague were somewhat expected, and that this is the do-or-die game for them. They can play under pressure and with the help of the fans I think they win this one by 6-7 points.

Not sure. I actually think Zilgiris has a shot. Cibona has some injury concerns. Their losses might have been "Expected" to tougher teams, but they got stomped twice & lost to a depleted Fenerbache squad. Still looking at that one. Starts at 12:30pm eT.

Neither has shown a lot of offense early in the Euroleague, but both possess the weaponry as they have shown domestically. This is more of a gut pick I guess.

11.11.09: [Euroleague] Fenerbache Ulker vs. Montepaschi Siena OVER 144.5 (-115)
One thing Montepaschi can do is score the basketball. In 3 Euroleague clashes, the Italian club has averaged 83 ppg with totals of 85, 84 & 82. Making it more impressive is that two of those games were on the road. Their defense has been steady after their squash job on Cibona when they were held to 40, allowing 64 & 65 points in their other two games. Fenerbache continues with injury concerns, but have maintained as a steady, but not spectacular offense. The Turkish outfit scored 59 in a blowout loss on the road to Regal Barcleona, tallied 78 in OT (64 in regulation) over ASVEL & hit 67 last time out in a five point win over Cibona. In domestic competition, they are averaging in the low 70s. Montepaschi should once again be good for 80 points. That leaves Fenerbache to net 65 or so to get this done. Not expecting the Italians to let up here as they continue to battle Regal Barcelona for the top spot at 3-0 in this group and Fenerbache is just one game back.

GL Sourdia. I like the Siena one the best of those plays. Prokom one is tough to call. Panathinaikos is the better club, but Greeks on the road in the Euroleague often fall flat!

Will be 1-1 today. Cibrona game went under, so my gut sucked. Fenerbache-Montepaschi at 99 points at the half should be a simple winner in the 2nd half.

Poor offensive performances. Nets have 40 with 10 of those coming from FTs. Both don't have explosive offenses nor great defenses, but I'll side with the lack of O to keep the meh Ds looking good.

Mavs have as many FTs made as they do FGs in a horrid shooting 1st half. Maybe the back-2-backs caught them early, but I have a hard time seeing this crew w/Josh Howard now in-play continuing not to get points or at the least, continue to get to the FT line against what still looks like a weaker San Antonio D this season. Spurs have been doing their damage from deep. 27 of their 51 points from beyond the arc. If Dallas goes to shut that down, could see more easy drives inside or FTs as well. Spurs will need to make their FTs, just 4/9 in the 1st half.

Olympiakos hosting Euroleague matches is certainly different than the Greeks on the road, however without Josh Childress (Swine Flu) I am going to question this one a touch. Also read a report that Von Wafer, who probably would have gotten some of Childress' minutes, is state-side after a death in the family. The Greeks have won both home contests in the EL comfortably by 20+, but those came against Orleanaise & Lietuvous Rytas. Efes Pilsen - when they want - can be formidable. They proved that point by storming back from a big deficit against group leaders Unicaja last time to force OT, eventually losing by 5 on the road. They also lost to Rytas on the road, so which club travels to Greece today? I believe one that is desperate for a win. Losing today drops them to 1-3 and sinks them to possibly as low as 4th in their group and in big trouble as far as advancing to the Round of 16. Efes is playing solid ball in their domestic league also with a win over fellow EL member Fenerbache last time out by 13. I'm hoping they bring that form today & believe if they do, this game stays within single digits.

For me, this is about motivation for the Turkish side. That's pretty much their M.O. in the Euroleague so far. I figure if they can't get up for this "rivalry" with the Greeks down a couple players and needing a win, then they deserve to get crushed.
