    Hey guys,

I started betting on NBA games on Jan 15th of this year using a strategy I came up with. Since it's unproven, I've only been flat betting $7 per game, never varying my bets. After 92 games as of 3/27/2018, I'm at 55-35-2. Seems promising so far, I've never had this high a winning percent after so many games. Does this seem like it could be a trend, or am I going to need a lot more games to be able to consider this a success? Thanks!

Just stick with your flat unit betting for now and see how far it takes you. Good job so far.

Thanks! It's too bad the regular season is going to be over soon. I'll need to wait until sometime next season before I can be more confident in my picks.

You're right, that does look promising. However, over only 90 bets, your model still has a wide range of possible outcomes, including scenarios where it's just barely profitable or not profitable at all. You're going to want to monitor your results over a few hundred bets at least. Google "confidence interval" to learn more about how to figure this out on your own.

Thanks! Yeah, 'confidence interval' looks like a good tool to validate the results. What's encouraging is I haven't seen any wild swings. My biggest winning streak is 7 games and biggest losing streak is 3 games.

Just a small update since I originally posted this. I'm currently at 97-57-3 ATS (63%) starting from when I originally posted up to yesterday. Out of that total, this season it has gone 16-12 (57.14%) so far. Hopefully I can stay above 57% the rest of this year.

The best Sports betters in the world, the ones who actually make a living doing this, their goal is to break 53%. That's the number you need to be profitable on standard -110 lines as 53% is break even. Use that as a baseline meaning if you dip below 57%, don't go on a bender and chase. Stay the course

Yeah, I always just flat bet, I never vary my bet size per game. If you really do have an edge in your picks, then flat betting will make you money.
