Peep's Champ and Mafia Leans for Easter 04/12/2009
    line: bc@cc 185.5
    pick: 185.5 under

    Under because:

    1. Cleveland is the best defensive team in the league this season.
    2. Boston is the 2nd best defensive team in the league this season.
    3. The under is 5-0 in Cleveland's last 5 home games.

Playoff type basketball tomorrow folks. Ugly game but chicken dinner for Easter is what we want. Happy Easter and GL to everyone.

Dallas has been on fire as of late at home but we all know how up and down Dallas can be. Today Dallas goes back on the road to New Orleans where they will be playing a home and home game against the angry Hornets who are out for revenge. As of late Hornets own the Mavericks at home. I expect around an 8pt win by the Hornets here.
Ahhh, the second matchup of the century. Lol. Boston at Cleveland. All I have to say is Cleveland owns Boston at home. Lebron and Co will try to get as far away from the Lakers in the playoff run as possible and they will show the Celtics who are the Kings of the East.
    NO -3.5
    Cle -5.5 (1 pt buy)

I am taking the hornets -3. Yes i am biassed but i think this is a good spot for the hornets.

Hornets dominated Dallas at home in last 6 meetings, inc playoffs last year. 6-0 with average winning margin of 12

Hornets have only lost 3 in a row once this season.

Slight revenge factor after losing the last game by 8.

            Fighting for playoff positions.

Hornets do not want to drop this game with 2 tough remaining games.
at Houston and at San Antonio

            CP3...

Hornets are banged up at the moment but they will not let this one slip

            Hornets to win by 7.

EDIT: If the game is close or Hornets just behind at half time i will take the Hornets for the 2nd half. The hornets are a strong second half team.

early leans (writeups to follow, but it is hard to find something today, you know the playoffs are about to start...)
Mem +12.5 (red hot and I will ride this team no matter what)
NO -3 (nice home record against Dallas and even if Dallas played better as of late, they still suck on the road...)
Phi -1 (they cant continue to play like that or they will face Boston or Cleveland in the first round... they will show up here today and win...considering bos and vle are next and they should loose )

Dallas will win this for sure they had 20 Orebs and controlled most of the game until 4th quarter when they were winning anyway. The Bench of NoH sux ass noone over 10points. Only west had 20 and paul 42 or sth. last 2 home games NoH lost vs WORST ROAD teams of Western Conference (Utah had 0-14 vs. .500 teams on road) and Suns (were elimitatitied of playoffs and 1-9 SU on Road last 10, allowing 122ppg)

Im Pounding Dal +4 or sth BIG, Pub is on NoH and i wait till line goes up

Not much talk on Miami VS NY. The Heat need every win they can get down the stretch in order to stay a 5 seed and avoid the big three in a first round duel. A win here takes pressure off when they have to close against the Hawks and Pistons. Miami has a split record against NY, but there stats have been great. 46.5 RPG (second highest of the year against any team) and 117.5 PPG (highest of the year against any team). I think buying points to get the Heat at -5.5 is a good play, as well as taking the over 211.5. Both of their last meetings totaled 235. What do you guys think?

If I do well with golf today, I will probably go ahead and take the over 211. They can score 20 points less combined than their average this year and still cash in.

Roag, read my Angel Cabrera thread (http://forum.sbrforum.com/nba-basket...s-tommrow.html) You need to bet a little on him to win the masters. I have Tiger to beat Phil 4th round (My buddy told me if I lose that bet he will send me $100 and he's not kiddnig. He is hitting over 70% on golf matchups last 3 weeks and in the last 7 Tiger matchups he's 7-0), and I have Angel Cabrera 4th round to beat Perry. Read my thread.

sweet, I put a $10 bet on Cabrera on Wednesday that will pay $700 if he wins today

I also have Furyk, Katayama, Stricker, Sabbatini, Hamilton and O'Hair - all bet on Wednesday that pay big for a $10 bet. Plus I have the field in case someone sneaks in the win.

I'll check out the Tiger/Phil matchup. Tiger just isn't on his game right now after the long layoff.

                          Good luck.

dan - one thing i have learned this year that will no doubt make me a better handicapper next year - is to never get scared away b/c of an injury.

handicap the game as you would - then if there is news that a star player from your team is out - simply wait on joe public to pound the other side, and get the extra value on the spread. in many cases this year, ive watched reserves answer the bell and get the job done when given the PT. i could understand maybe you wouldnt lay as much cash on the game w/o cp3, but dont change or cancel the bet from my experience.

Tiger will not win the masters but he will make sure that he beats Phil today. Tiger shot -4 yesterday after that 1st hole. He will have a great day today, not enough to win the tourney but enough to beat Phil. Let's go ANGEL!

Are you kidding me Tiger is still playing great golf. He has had bad rounds in majors even before the injury. There is not a golfer on the tour that would say they are not happy to be in the top 10 going into the final day of a major. A few missed puts in golf, a few bad irons, or bad drives and you are out of contention for the title. That is what happened to Tiger this week, but I will not say a guy isn't on his game after a layoff when he has already won a tournament since being back and when he is in the top 10 in his first major back from the injury.

Tiger is playing great golf relative to everyone else except Tiger. He isn't on his game, he even admitted yesterday he's not sharp. Why do you think he's missing putts, hitting some bad irons (including short irons, etc.? Because he isn't on HIS typical game. Geez.

And he's never won a major after trailing after 54 holes.

does the game mean anything for NO? im not following nba right now

edit - just looked at the standings and basically no, dal and utah can move between the 6-8 seeds if that even means anything to them.

bottom line, this game doesnt mean any more to the mavs then it does the hornets

wow, the hornets might go for the kill today..

The behavior of the Dallas players added to New Orleans coach Byron Scott's irritation after the game. He accused the Southwest Division rival Mavericks of "rubbing it in, showing off, I don't know what you want to call it.""I'm old school, so it doesn't sit well with me," he said. "I hope it doesn't sit well with our guys."

Why do you think he's missing putts, hitting some bad irons (including short irons, etc.? Because he isn't on HIS typical game. Geez.

And he's never won a major after trailing after 54 holes.

Certainly does Dex! Hornets and Mavs are currently tied for the 6th spot in the West, with just 2 games remaining for both after today's clash. After New Orleans lost the first of the home-and-home against Dallas, plus given their home record vs. the Mavs' road woes, I really can't see the Hornets not giving it their all today - CP3 or no CP3.
