Thanks for the explanation - yea one of the local books had st. john as -.5 with higher juice and the line just seemed odd when all the other line was -2

Yes the lines at soresandodds.com truly are the lines that the book opened the game at, but that line you see at sbr is the overnight "projected" line. Its like the line that you find in your morning paper which is produced way before the books actually open up. For instance I'm looking at the Denver Post here and the line is Utah -2. Obviously they come up with this line the day before.

projected by who? it doesnt match the Las Vegas Sports Consultants - which is who i believe puts out the opening lines for books to work off.

I don't post my picks for others to tail either. They just do. These are MY leans. The Secret Plays are over for the year after the normal conference season ended. I haven't gotten the call from the other members for a PC Play. When I do, it will be on the thread. The final tally for the SP's was 50-31-4 in college basketball and 39-9 in college football, and the PC's are 14-6. Those I do know. I don't really have an interest in blind taliers. I have an interest in information only.

Dex, you know what, I don't know who they get their service from and I'm speaking of newspapers, but they are very inaccurate at times. Its weird some of them are right on. But, especially with today, alot of the games are off the board until mid-morning but the papers which go to press subscribe to some syndicated service which provides these lines. I believe that the "opening" sbr line is like this... so I am agreeing with you and saying that these sources are not accurate opening lines as they are some sort of projection. For example with the paper besides the Utah line which was off, they show MIN -1 (opened MEM-2)...but sometimes they are very close..they have PHIL-7 (opened PHI -6.5) .Orlando -8.5 (open -8 ). So best source I agree would be to use soresandodds.com jmo

Man in the previous game, Chicago blew out Orlando by 18 points, and it seems like tonight might be Orlando's turn to return the favor. The Bulls would be too tired after the Double Overtime against Miami the other night, and because of Orlando's embarrassing recent 3rd lost of the season to Detroit, they're gonna take their frustration on this poor Chicago team. Plus, how will Brad Miller be able to guard SuperMan?

I think Portland will win this game but I doubt that they will cover since 9 pts is really a gift for Dallas. If I win the early games tonite, I will put some on this game, otherwise I will lay this game off.
