I always stay away from week 1. too many unknowns. Panthers would have been my best pick at 1.70 (maybe there is some bias there). Looking forward to tonights game Sharks-Titans at the shire. With Carney a doubt I wouldnt go near this game.

The over valued Broncos held out a pathetic Bulldogs attack and showed plenty of spirit last week. But JT is in a class of his own and looking at both rosters I see the Cowboys rolling to an easy win.

Cowboys go down 12-16. The season is over. I can live with a loss of $500, it's being so wrong on just about every call that fukn pisses me off. A horrible start with the Roosters and it went downhill from there.

In retrospect I should've stayed away from the opening round. The 3 unit play on the Cowboys was ill advised. Was proven dead wrong on that one. If I were to psychoanalyze myself, would probably say it was a subconscious desire to hit my loss limit and be done with it. Definitely took some effort to get myself back into the NRL this year. Have been on a profitable run in the NBA and unlike Sando I'm not skilled enough to hit multiple sports with the same level of consistency and success.

No regrets, I gave it a shot and the NRL beat me fair and square. Had a good laugh when I realised the only winning play was on the PARRAMATTA EELS.

I feel you mate, I'm just about done on my thread as well. Even if keeping a thread is a bit of an ego trip I thought there would be some quality NRL discussion. I tried to give a bit of food for thought and found a Raiders fan that hasn't even heard of Travis Waddell. If there are any quality posters out there at least give a write up!!

The best piece of advice I can give is:

Don't bet favorites ATS for the first 4 rounds - you really need to wait and see how new rules and team chemistry play out.

Furthermore, limit your unit size to just 1. After a few weeks, you can get a better feel on the style each team is playing and judge their form a little better.

Half the battle is passing on a game you are not sure of.

Thanks for the comments guys. Going to lay low with 1-2 plays per round until I break even. Needless to say there will be no 5 unit plays this season. It's still a risk as I could very well end up 20 units down if the losses continue. That would be $1000.

Plenty of lols in the NRL last week with the Dragons, Tigers & Raiders all winning as road dogs. However the biggest surprise was in the AFL with the Swans getting smashed by GWS.

Tom Waterhouse has $2 favourites again this Friday. $2 ML on the South Sydney vs Wests Tigers. Max bet $50.

SOUTHS ML $50 @2.00 (Tom Waterhouse)
TIGERS ML $22.70 @4.40 (Centrebet)

It won't count towards my record, as not everyone out there has an account with Waterhouse. Guaranteed to win around $27. Small profit, but it buys a nice bottle of wine.

My only play for round 4 is on today's western Sydney battle. Expecting a close one but the Panthers have proven to be the stronger team so far.

lol. Another wrong call. Panthers out muscled today and bombed too many chances. Parra were fired after last week's loss to Manly and deserved the win. A generous penalty count in their favour helped.

Can't pick a winner in his game but like the total to go over. Warriors can go from spectacular to amateur within the space of ten minutes and that means scoring opportunities.l. Cronulla meanwhile have managed a grand total of 16 points this season. Something to keep in mind for over backers today.

Playing really well alright. Probably need a blow out to get this, Warriors are capable of that they're hopeless when they want to be and it's looking like one of those days. That butchered sharks try in the corner was a killer and they should of taken the two near the end there.
